    Hi Girls
Wonderful for that lady – I’m 83, and if I could get SRS for free in Australia I’d also be doing it. Have to win lotto!

This is indeed a wonderful story. The lady is so very confident and active. May she live a long life and enjoy whatever comes her way.

    hi
yes good idea ,Karron is our new prez of Chameleon Society of WA ,and she will be at ANZPATH as well.MAybe u can talk to her as i put the topic up on our web site that Aust govt should help fund SRS on Medicare system,She thinks this already happens but a transperson still has to come up with the $10,000.00 shortfall(bit hard when you are on new start income) :(

Also the 10k shortfall can be funded by your superannuation after one year on HRT in Australia with the help of a registered Psychiatrist on the application form to release 10k(max amount each year) from your nominated super fund. As im on HRT and going for SRS within next couple of years ,i have checked out my options both here in Australia and overseas.

It is a fact that medicare coverage is there mainly I understand because of the cleaver way in which the doctors charge out the procedures. There certainly are out of pocket expenses about the same as described.
Sounds like I will be seeing some of you at the conference great to hear after six months involvement with it.
