It is gratifying to see that a feature of the old web site that took me many days to develop 8 or so years ago is osloved. But the flexibility that allowed one to achieve just about any web site functionality if one had the time, skills and patience to code it comes at a cost.

Having retired and found other absorbing interests I no longer had the time to keep a rapidly obsolete web site safe and running. So I moved over to the current site which is 99.9% built from standard components.

The upside of this is that I’m not to only person who could figure out how things work.

The downside is that you can’t have any special unique features.

And plotting incomplete addresses on a map is just one such feature that has to go. The new site can’t even sort members based on post code.

So thanks for missing the features, but no, they aren’t going to reappear.

Instead I have re-attempted an enhancement I tried (and failed) at when the site was launched.

Assuming I haven’t broken something (again) when you look at members on the members list it does show the state/postcode.
