Sorry but I can’t…..
It’s been a bit of while since there has been a post on the subject of “can’t do” and many members may not have been on TgR the last time it was an issue. So a quick refresh of policy.
it is our policy to delete posts whose significant content is just to say that someone cannot do something. This generally but not exclusively applies to events.
Why can’t I post that I can’t come to some event?
a) because if everyone took the opportunity to say they couldn’t do something the forums would be flooded with several hundred messages
b) because seeing messages about what can’t be done tends to make slightly depressing reading and wouldn’t inspire others to make their own bold steps
c) because most of the forum messages go out in the email digests and members are unlikely to find much value on clicking on the links only to get a “can’t do” message
d) because if it is an event you can always directly message the organiser if your absence is a significant issue to them. However posts that say you are going to do something – particularly if it is the first time you have done it – they are more than welcome!
