2007 Steppin Out event
Posted by Anonymous on 24/04/2007 at 3:07 amHello Amanda,
It was luvly to meet you and finally put a face to the name…well it has come and gone already, doesnt seem that long ago we were sitting having coffee Emma and I, discussing putting together an event like Steppin Out…I want to offer a huge thank you to all the ladies from Sydney who took the time, effort and expense to attend our inaugral show in Adelaide…I am sure it would have been less flattering without your presence and sincere support…to those i didnt get a chance to chat with briefly or in depth, there will be other times i am sure…it was a memorable and rewarding night in many ways and i hope that all who attended enjoyed the oppurtunity to make new and enhance old friendships and discover through embracing self acceptance and like mindedness the truly genorous and wonderful people we really are…bouquets to everyone…kind regards…Jaclyn Leelee replied 17 years, 2 months ago 4 Members · 9 Replies -

Ditto to what Wendy said!!!!
The Tasmanian girls enjoyed it too!
What better way for us to come out of the closet than at an event like Steppin Out- we are still talking about our night out a week later.
Congrats to Emma,Jaclyn,Naomi ,Raelene and all the supporters and sponsors of the event.
My Wife and I got to meet some great new friends-some of whose names have now escaped us!!-so we,ll have to do this event again to renew those aquaintences.Special thanks to Emma & Naomi who helped make our attendance possible.Cheers

Guest24/04/2007 at 7:59 amThis sounds like one fabulous occasion. And what, may I ask, are girls born for … that’s right … to party!!!!
I’m not sure what the theme will be or what sort of entertainment there will be, but one can only imagine.
Perhaps a little smooth and sophisticated:

or more rockin’ and retro (get up in that cage you aspiring go go girls):

I’m pretty sure a good time will be had by all. I have my diary booked (just don’t peek at any of the other entries :wink:)

Guest24/04/2007 at 10:47 amWell we look forward very much to seeing you there Virginia!
There are sooooo few opportunities to frock up properly and have a nice night on the town and we thought that if we didn’t get off our asses and do something nothing would happen.
As for the theme? Cool or sophosticated, retro or rock….we dont mind as long as you have a great time

Guest15/05/2007 at 11:46 amHi girls xxxxx
This afternoon the lovely Jaclyn & I visited the Checkers On Pirie to have a look and have a chat with the owners of the club about our upcoming soiree on the 27th of October (reserve your tickets gals it’s going to be a great night!)
We were more than very pleasantly surprised to say the least. The club has a wonderful ambience and felt comfortable and inviting as soon as we stepped through the discrete front door. Tony and his lovely wife Tanya have spent a lot of time and effort transforming what was once a dingy little strip joint into an intimate club venue which caters primarily for swingers groups and the like but is opening its arms to lifestyles like ours. Chatting with Tony and Tanya it was very interesting to hear the similarities between our scene and the swingers scene….they are spookily (is that a word?) alike in what they are looking for in a venue and have blazed the trail for us . We think we’ve hit the jackpot as far as a place to call home is concerned for Steppin Out and any other event we (or anyone else for that matter) want to put on as a community.
What we can tell you is:
*There will be no shortage of dance music (not any of that doof-doof rubbish but proper crap we all like )
*The menu is excellent (don’t forget a 3 course meal is included in your ticket)…with multiple choices and something to please everyone, a complimentary drink on arrival and drinks specials thru the night. Another important point to note is that Checkers have their own Chef in-house now so we can actually extend the time out for ticket sales as we dont have to sell our souls (far too late for most of us anyway ) to an outside catering contractor
* Smoking and non-smoking areas
* Security on-site
So the night is pretty well all organised. Jaclyn, Raelene, Naomi and Craig have done a fabulous job on pulling everything together ………… all we need is you. Unless we get a good number of locals attending it’s unlikely we or anyone else can do anything worthwhile for our community again so we need your support. With the demise of the Edinburgh Castle there is nothing left for us as a neutral venue and the big plus about Checkers is it is soooooo discrete from the outside and easy to access.
Don’t let us down girls …this is, after all, what you said you wanted.

Emma,
Sounds like the premier event in Adelaide for 2007.
I booked my ticket this week.How about some company from other girls in the Eastern States. Knowing Emma and a few of the organisers it will be a great event and worthwhile supporting.
You only live once, don’t worry about the expense, if you book early the airfare won’t be that expensive
Cheers,
Wendy
