    Hi Fiona,

Myers and DJs both have an extensive range of hosiery. You could also try Bras ‘n things as well. Failing that Big-W to have a good range and as for brands I have always found Razzamatazz to be excellent. Look for the nylon to be in a cross hatch pattern rather than a random pattern as I find the cross hatch weave gives a smoother finish. I hope you find what you want…

    Hello Fiona
I usually buy Razzamatazz Curvaceous pantyhose, available at most supermarkets & department stores, never had an odd look at the checkout, they come in 3 colours, soft tan, brazen or black, size 2 fits from 155cm to 179cm height, quite cheap, about $10 for a 2 pack & long wearing, I get around a month from a pair wearing 18 hours a day during the cooler months, starting to get a bit warm for them now, sigh, probably would get the odd look wearing them under work shorts
    cheers

    Hi Fiona
Ah ha a subject I have some knowledge of, being well over 6′ tall I have spent a goodly amount of time and money working on this problem through trial and error and over the years my wife has allways had a good supply of hosiery that didn’t fit me.
So here are some I have found, “Sheer relief” from anywere, they have changed in the last year and are not so long in the body and are now a bit sheerer but still good for that Melbourne winter southerly blast, “Kmart home brand high waist p/hose” are very sheer and silky, the “Voodoo” range are good but a bit exy when they are stretched to the maximum and quite often only last the one wear, “Serra” from Aldi are long enough but not allways in stock BTW all these are in the size of Xtall.
Stockings, I have found a supplier in England on Ebay that has very nice sheer and silky stocking that are the longest so fare “Lynns TV Fashions” (extra long).
    Hope this helps.

    Cheers Diane 3

Xtall are available every where but I have found that sheer relief are really good for resisting ladders. On special as things often are at coles or woolies they are cost effective quality at $5.75. And I am 6’1 so I know that they are definitely tall.

I have found Curvaceous size 1 to be economical and they fit well. I also have Vooodoo voluptuous size one as they are good for height and a roundish tummy.

I think I’m qualified to enter the discussion on this topic being 188cm in height . You get attention when you are out in public but thats OK with me !!!

I usually find the X Tall category on most brands of hosiery work quite well . Razzamatazz or Clio for every day wear and usually Voodoo or Levante are my choices for a special occasion . Ive tried several more expensive brands but Ive never found them significantly better. The ultra sheer ones IMO only work well if you have waxed legs , which is my preference these days. Stockings and suspenders and OBG’s are nice to wear occasionally but a bit impractical as stockings are very prone to laddering I find , even when you are very careful before putting them on by removing any rings.

The best tip I can offer with any type of hosiery is NOT to put them on when straight out of the pack.
Before you wear them give them a rinse in water that has a small amount of Fabric softener in it about half a teaspoon per half bucket of warm water. take them out after about 10-20mins and dont rinse just line dry in the shade.
It does make them feel silkier on the legs and somewhat less prone to laddering.

And finally for those in Sydney, I’d recommend a visit to the Kolotex Factory Shop on Parramatta road in Leichardt. Google will show you the exact location. It has an EXTENSIVE range of pantyhose and stockings. kayser , voodoo, kolotex and others all out discounted prices vs dept stores.

    Cheers

I am nudging the old 6′ and buy my hose from DJs and Myers when they are on special, unless I am absolutely desperate. I buy a whole stack of Ambra X-Tall muscade, nearly black or black 12, 15 or 20 denier when I am in Australia as they are impossible to get in large sizes in Thailand where I live. This is the land of the little people!

I too shop at Kolotex Factory Shop (google voodoo factory outlet). Great prices and plenty of xtall options (I am 178cm so sort of inbetween tall and xtall on a few brands. I prefer voodoo and Platnium, though I usually wear a girdle or garter belt so prefer stockings to pantyhose or thigh highs.

    Happy shopping!
