Surgery – Thailand
Returned home today (Sunday 20th) from the suporn clinic in Thailand.
Staff at the hospital and at the Suporn clinic are excellent. It is still early (30 days) since the surgery and things will need to settle down for a little while, but I am happy. Dr Suporn would have to be the most understanding surgeon I have met.
The hardest part I found was coming off the hormones for so long before and afterwards. The emotions swung widely and dramas at home made it hard to relax at times. If seeking SRS may I suggest that you concentrate on your recovery and let the dramas at home stay there.
The other thing I found difficult was being confined to bed for so long.Travelling to thailand for SRS can be a daunting business and I found the isolation while recovering in my room at the hotel a very diifficult expereince. I suggest that those travelling to Thailnd for SRS take a support person with them or at least have a RELIABLE contact person here in Australia. It makes the recovery period that much more pleasant.
