TgR has a new front door!

A long running project has come to fruition with the launch today of a dedicated web site at http://www.tgr.net.au.

The purpose of the new web site is to provide a quality portal to the general public that will hopefully improve help improve understanding of gender diversity in general and of TgR in particular. I also hope that the quality content indexed through search engines will attract more new members to the forum.

Most of the information on the new site is in addition to, or extracted from the TgR forums. The only major change to members is that the events listings are moving out to the portal. This is primarily to provide a simpler and more reliable way of entering new events. Over the next few weeks I will be decommissioning the old events calendar.

The web site is not complete (what web site is?) – but I look forward to hearing your feedback.

Go to http://www.tgr.net.au – and if you see the old web page refresh your browser.

I think that everyone involved should be proud of the new “front door”.

I will speak frankly (I often do). I think that the old page was not a good “window” for the general community to access TGR. It could be quite confronting, particularly for SO’s, and the black and gold theme seemed to accentuate the over the top “tranny” view that much of society has of the gender diverse community. I can say that my wife, who is very accepting, intensely disliked the old TGR presentation.
I like the new presentation. I particularly like the revolving photo thing, it looks great and the photos are tasteful and intriguing. I like the short “info panel” as well.
I wonder if perhaps there may be some way on that first page to provide a “welcome” or something similar to those who have a loved one who is gender diverse? Often times those who have a loved one who is gender diverse are looking for help and a personal connection into a world that must seem to them very strange and a little bit “secret society”. I am sure that you are working on things like this already.

    Well Done everyone involved.

I just had a look at the new front door….

It is easy to look at and doesn’t put itself in your face (i guess i mean its not loud and tizzy)

    love it… well done Sx
