So I’m looking at the map on the tgr website particularly my location in the bega valley nsw and it says there are 3 girls livitlivinghe narooma area about 40 k’s north of me. Is that true as I would live to know who you are and meet up for a coffee and chat.

Just remember that the google map is drawn from postcodes – and some Australian post codes can be quite large.

    Great question.

The member map is as accurate as possible given the constraints.

I suspect it is an underutilized but valuable resource within TgR for trying to connect with someone relatively close to you.

    Exploit it!!

Yes, I find myself on the wrong side of Brisbane Waters but it is in the right suburb.

About 300 metres out for me. That’s pretty accurate for an application that doesn’t use a street address.
I have often used it to check out other members that live in God’s Country.
    Hugs to all,
    Fay

    Hi all.

Can someone point me to where I find the TGR map. I can’t find a link anywhere.

    Thanks, in anticipation

Thanks Adrian for your fast response. I know now why I couldn’t find it before as I had gone to the correct menu ‘TGR Members’ clicked on the main menu item but immediately pressed the submenu item ‘member list’ not realising that the clicking on the main menu heading also took one to a page, ie the correct map page.
    Thanks again
    Regards Marilyn

Ok, now I have explored the map and clicked on a blue circle in my area, My nexf question is how do I see who the other people near me are. I have clicked on the inverted red teardrop thinking that they are the people but that does.nothing . Sorry to bother with my questions.
    Regards Marilyn

There is a good chance the technology doesn’t work on mobile devices/tablets. On a PC you just mouse over the red tears and the name/link comes up. So much on the website pre-dates mobile phones! I will look to see if Google offers a different way to navigate….

Cool. Thanks Adrian. I was on a Samsung Android tablet. I will chech the map out on my PC plus I will also try hovering over it with the stylus that came with the tablet, that mught also work.

Update FYI Adrian. My tablet’s stylus pen worked when I hovered it over the red tear just like a mouse. I would imagine Apple’s pen probably works as well on IPads. However I couldn’t find a way to emulate that with just a finger. Sometimes hover actions can be triggered using a long press to get the context menu to pop up and then pressing the back button (on Android) to cancel the context menu leaving you with what would be there if you were able to hover. Unfortunately it didn’t seem to want to work that way in this case.
    Thanks again

7 KM by road for me, not bad when you consider how many suburbs there are in the postcode 2322. I look upon the TG map as a general reference for us out side of the big cities
