It is with sorrow that I share the following death notice posted in the Sydney Morning Herald on 27/5/23. Rosemary was a mentor for me in my early years at Seahorse in the ’90s. She will be missed by many.

    LANGTON,

    Rosemary Marion.

    b.9 December 1931 – d.22 May 2023.

Founder in 1971 and Life Member of The Seahorse Society of NSW.

Rosemary’s courage and persistence enabled cross dressers to accept and embrace their reverence for the feminine. With over 1,200 members, many marriages, family relationships and lives saved the Society is recognized by Government and Academia. Today, its outreach has become international.

Greatly missed by her colleagues in the Society and Rainbow Community. A long life and an enduring legacy. Love Rosemary’s family, David L, Chell, Trish, David H, Sean, Peter, Graeme, Alyssa, Jessica, Philip, Tash, Jasmine and Alex.

I didn’t know her that long, but she was quite an inspiration living the life she wanted and needed to and not worrying what others thought.A lot of history, experience and inspiration gone -will be missed by many.

I only met Rosemary the once, but found her to be utterly charming and such an engaging person. I still speak of her fondly to many from just that one meeting.

She clearly did so much for the community and it’s the work of Rosemary, our very own Adrian and others of that esteemed ilk who paved the way and made it possible for us to meet and be the girls we are. I’ll certainly be raising a glass to her at the next TGR Social 💕
