Today we welcomed our newest member to Tranny Radio,
    Ebbeny – Member 3462.

What is so special about that?

Well Ebbeny brings the active membership of the group to 500.

For a long while it seemed that we would never break through the 500 barrier – as fast as new members joined we would purge out the profiles of girls that were no longer active. Unlike many other groups we take a very active approach to maintaining our membership base – the number is less important that the quality of members; so girls who don’t answer emails or who don’t log on for a year find themselves removed from the database. With out such an active approach we would have 3462 members at the moment – but instead we have 500 quality committed T-Girls.

As a measure of the involvement of the community – 45% of the girls logged on in the last week, and over 40% are known to have read their emails in the same time. In the last month a stunning 63% of the girls logged on at least once.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank every one of the 500 T-Girls for making this site into a useful and vibrant resource – without you it would be just another soul-less advertising portal.

What am I going to do to celebrate?
Well, in a foolish moment I once promised that I would overhaul and improve the chat room if the membership reached 500 – so if you don’t see me in the chat room you can guess what is cooking!

    Amanda,
Congratulations on your milestone being reached.
Both myself and Wendy appreciate your efforts in maintaining a fantastic dynamic site for all members. This site provides communications, details of Australia wide resources and personal support to new members as required.
We have noticed the member interaction within the chatroom to be very dynamic and this is reflected in the growing membership & the attendance of a large number of TR members at the recent Seahorse Society Ball.
Once again, many thanks for your invaluable contribution.
    Wenorah (hehe).

Well done, Amanda! Congratulations on number 500! Your efforts on Trannyradio and otherwise are very much appreciated!!

I won’t make any change hand jokes as you’re probably tired of them. Jokes or changing hands…

I am worried about my achieving 150 characters, words or widgets before the web mistress strikes me down, deletes my reply and gives me a good thrashing. Are we there yet??

You are and counting. See you round, like a record. I could go on. But I won’t. Oh dear, good night. Adieu mon amis. Toute suite. Merde. Au revoir. Are we there yet. Yes, I think so.

Bon nuit. Good night XXX Jan

Hi, I want to add my congratulations. I have been a member and participant of a few ‘group/forum’ type sites and this has been the most user-friendly one.
It’s always stimulating, always interesting and even though we can disagree from time to time, and what ‘family’ doesn’t, everything can be sorted.
Good on you and here’s to many more,
    cheers,
    Helen

hey amanda … you should be very proud of passing this milestone. i remember the days before things like tranny radio was around, and in my (humble) view, tranny radio has certainly enriched our lives.

for me, to know about jenny’s nails, hexa’s taxi club, anthea’s high heel walk, lina’s quotation disability and many many other entertaining, uplifting, and inspiring stories has made a great deal of difference to how i have come view my life on the light side.

tranny radio has also created a social network so that we have been able to meet all and sundry from near and far. you have brought our worlds a lot closer and made our existences a lot less lonely.

i am not sure what percentage of the tranny population 500 represents, but i think there are also lots of like minded people who share our disposition and who, while they may not be members, still derive comfort and solace as guests.

i know there are lots of members who have “come out” through the virtual world you have created, and many of them have gone on to come out in the real world too. and i am sure there are lots of the 500, who, while they may not necessarily be very active contributors, derive a true sense of belonging and sense of community through tranny radio.

all i can say is roll on the next 500, and thanks (to judy, too) for the moderation!

    hugs,

    virginia

As a webmistress of a website (that had nothing to do with gender issues) and that has a busy forum (50-100 posts per day), I can fully appreciate the work that goes into running this website, which has given me a life as Christine. Just traipsing along to Seahorse meetings once a month would never have satisfied me like the social interaction that I have had here, both on-line and in real life.

Running a website and forum will inevitably put one off-side with some members when one has to enforce some rules and deal with the politics of any organisation, but the majority will always appreciate the work and leadership that is involved.

I have visited and posted at another two crossdressing forums – Seahorse (dead quiet – one post a month!) and the American based crossdressers.com which has hundreds of posts per day. TR has a nice balance – handful of very readable posts each day – just like Goldilocks (not too few and not too many) and being Oz-based, there is a fair chance of actually meeting up in real life.

    KUTGW!

    Christine

I wish to offer my congratulations to you Amanda. What an invaluable resource you have created for us. I personally have met some wonderful people because of this web site and I don’t know what I would be doing or where I would be socially without it. So I thank you.

Until now i have been one of the silent members. To be part of a famly such as this is a privilege and an honour. Congratulations to you all, the radio is such a vehicle of emotive transport. When reading stories of other girls, my face is always smiling in fond recogition of similar events, you can almost feel the nerves, the trepidation or excitement happening in their lives almost as you were there. I guess what i am trying to say is that we all share a certain bond, we can understand where others would think otherwise.
    Love your work.
