As a teenager I was in a band and we all totally followed the Who and played the whole of Meaty Beaty Big and Bouncy. I was the Daltrey of the band. I always felt uncomfortable playing I’m a Boy because of the lyrics and my secret yen to actually BE a girl. I wished my Ma DID want to dress me up as a girl as the lyrics so negatively put it!
