So sorry you missed this event Caroline. I am sure it exceeded even the organisers’ own expectations. For me, it was truly a wonderful experience and even before it was announced that there would be a repetition, in of all places, Katoomba, I had bought the dress for the next return match! Can’t wait for next October.

A great weekend catching up with so many t-friends. The venue for the event, The Rendevous Hotel was a great choice. It was right in the centre of the city but unusually for a city hotel still had some period charm – and polite friendly staff. Here are a couple of shots from my phone on Sat night.

I had an absolutely fantastic time at TransActShon. Loved the hotel, the location, and all the great people that I reconnected with and got to know better. It was equally wonderful to see and meet new people and some of their unique partners. And unique in the sense that they are so supportive. The winery tour with Freddi (Cath) was the icing on the cake although how I ended up consuming copious and generous portions of no less than eight types of gin from a boutique distillery on a wine tasting trip was novel. Not that I am complaining. It all went down a treat other than my response to it the following day. But on that day I bought one of my outfits for Katoomba 2020. Cannot wait for that to occur. Anyhow thanks so much to Fay, Emma, Sherrin, Tanya, the Trucc team, the entertainers and all the other great folk who put the time and effort into making this event so successful for the participants.

Allow me to add my sincere thanks to the hardworking organisers on a cracking event- I just did the Saturday night ball, but am sure that the rest of the weekend was equally good. Really enjoyed catching up with some old friends and meeting some new ones. Great that some of the folk I talked to who were coming along to their first ever event had such a great introduction. Special appreciation for booking such great musical acts (and sparing us either the superannuated clubland ‘comedians’ or the seemingly obligatory drag show…). Was interested to note that the previous night in Melbourne was the Globe Awards, the heavily corporatised celebration of all things LGBTQIA*
or whatever this week’s acronym is. Our event was much smaller scale but definitely the preferable place to be imho. -

I am so pleased with how the weekend progressed and looking forward to planning the next one with the team October 16-18 2020. Katoomba. Who knows we may indeed be back in Melbourne at the Rendezvous 2021 for Spring…
