Deleted User23/02/2020 at 11:01 amThankyou Caroline for staging and facilitating the event. A big undertaking that came together close to perfectly. We as a couple are so appreciative and cannot express our gratitude enough. I can only recommend to other couples that if this is run again to come along.
Thanks again Caroline

Deleted User23/02/2020 at 9:55 pmYes, us too.
Caroline you are wonderful and this event was so useful.
Also thanks to Annette, Joe (from ACON) and especially to the partners that came along.
I picked up two words that seemed to be important. Us girls spoke about transparency – being open and honest with our partners is best. The partners had one word too – support, having others to talk to.
I do hope that the event happens again for other couples.

Deleted User24/02/2020 at 6:38 amAnn and I enjoyed the afternoon and Ann especially appreciated the opportunity to meet with the other partners.
She hopes there are further opportunities for the partners to get together.Caroline, thank you and Annette for organising the event, we know presenting at such an event can be very daunting,
We enjoyed both the content and style of presentation and look forward to the next get to get-to-tether.

Deleted User24/02/2020 at 8:09 amA forum Post by Jessica Wayne a long time ago ” Helping our Partners” was an inspiration for Transform so grateful acknowledgements to Jessica for that but it seems she may not be a member of TGR anymore.
I’d also like to thank Lately Girl (Fran ) and Geraldine O Brien for valuable advice towards the Project.
Last but not least Thanks to Adrian for producing the TGR survey back in 2011 and 2017 which formed an integral part of TRANSFORM.. -

Deleted User24/02/2020 at 9:31 amThankyou Caroline
The event was both helpful and enjoyable – it was lovely to meet everyone and catch up but I know Theresa got a lot out of the partners chat.
Definitely worth having similar forums

Deleted User25/02/2020 at 1:26 amSorry, Caroline; there was a whole lot more to my post than that one line. It all seems to have gone missing: this is the second time this week – am I doing something wrong?
Here’s the gist of my congratulations:
I was so happy and privileged to help in our consultations via phone, txt and email.I read your participants’ feedback and was overjoyed – couldn’t have been better. With your relationships seminar you have made a massive contribution to the trans community: I do hope you can repeat the event. To help promote future seminars I wonder if Your participants would be happy for you to publish their feedback – anonymously of course – in your promotional material.
My congratulations again on a teal milestone in trans education and partner support.

Deleted User01/04/2020 at 10:07 amWe live in difficult times !
Hope you all continue to stay healthy. Not so long ago some couples spent an afternoon together and shared some thoughts about the existence of a Trans or Gender Diverse person in the relationship.
I’m very happy that even a small group took the opportunity to be involved .
That event was TRANSFORM and it will definitely occur again.
The Partners who attended said that Support was what they really needed.
So…. One of the Partners has volunteered to organise a Partners only Event on a semi regular basis.
Details are yet to be confirmed but it will be open to all Partners and Partners ONLY ! whether or not they attended TRANSFORM.I think this is a wonderful opportunity to help Partners who may not have felt comfortable attending TRANSFORM. but MAY feel ok sharing some time with other Partners.
More details to follow when the world returns to some normality.
Xxx

Deleted User22/06/2020 at 9:46 pmTRANSFORM is an ongoing initiative to help those partners who are still coming to terms with living with a gender diverse partner. The aim was to foster understanding and help alleviate the anxieties that so often occur in such a relationship and so avoid things going completely awry,
A “Partners Only” event , was seen as a way of providing some support to those who have only recently found out their partner being TG or have known for a while and are finding it difficult ..
The partners who met up last Friday for the “Partners Only” dinner have decided to make this a bimonthly event so the next one will be 21st August at Despana 110 Glebe point Road. This just happens to be about 5 mins walk away from our venue , The Friend in Hand Hotel.
If any new partners would like to attend they would be made most welcome and of course it would be understood that they may not feel comfortable about joining the rest of the group later at the Pub, its their choice entirely .
It is also intended that occasionally a day time event will be held , such as a Lunch or a quiet Coffee somewhere. This may be of interest to those partners who may not feel too comfortable about being out during the night .
Other things are planned so watch this space , but If any questions in the short term please let me know if I can help.
It is also intended that this will be run BY partners FOR partners.
