Jamie, 47 a male-to-female gender reassignment candidate, formerly known as Jim, was an all-around man’s man from a small town in Michigan. Jamie chased girls, raced cars and built houses. To top it off, she has been married to Brenda for 25 years and fathered their 12 year-old daughter. Jamie hoped that becoming a husband and father would cure her of what she considered a shameful secret; that she was a woman in a man’s body. Finally, after considering suicide, Jamie decides to make the male-to-female transition which has profound effects on her family and life-long friends. Against all advice, Brenda decides to stay with Jamie through the surgery.
