Thanks Shana, I’ll look into it. All they offered so far was the chance to buy an extra month’s worth.

I too saw the first episode but have not seen any since as I am at work a lot and always forget to set the recording. I would love to watch it all and I know the feeling about trying to tell her children

Transpatience: Season 2 of Transparent starts filming in May and should be released later in 2015. In the meantime I’m stuck with rewatching episodes of Season 1.

ok its like this its realy nothing i have heard before we have all been threw that or something like it
this is our life and its not a journey that goes on forever as some may think when you accept why you dress and know your reasons the journey is over the end
thats when you can start to live
but the show may help others find there way and ballance as many of us had to do it by our selves no help and i would not wish that on anyone
so i will watch the show and i hope its as good as what all have said about it

I dont mean to be a cow but i see so many shows on this subject that just does not help the transgender person find there way in life

I don’t know if anyone caught the mini promotion of a series called ‘Transparent’. It had a seemingly short two episode promo on one of the channels but I don’t know of it was shown in its entirety.
I mentioned previously how I came to subscribe to Netflix and found a selection of LGBT movies. Well, there is another streaming tele service called ‘Stan’. I have no idea why it is called Stan. But it is showing the entire Transparent series. At $10.00 a month I think this could be good value.

There’s good news and bad re: Transparent.

Bad: I just heard on the radio that TG actress Holly Woodlawn has died aged 69 from liver cancer. Holly played Vivian in 2 episodes of Series 1 of Transparent but is probably most famous as the inspiration for Lou Reed’s 1972 song “Take a Walk on the Wild Side”. The song starts with lines based on the true story where Holly aged 15 hitchhikes from Florida to California en route plucking her eyebrows and shaving her legs, switching from boy to girl.

Good: Series 2 of Transparent has started. Episode 1 is available on Amazon and STAN.

I can’t feeling that we may be expecting too much from television programmes such as ‘Transparent’, ‘Orange is the New Black’ or even ‘Sense8’. Wanting it to be a more accurate portrayal of ‘our’ situation would be almost impossible considering the variety within our community.
It really is expecting shows like the soapies, ‘Home and Away’ or ‘Neighbours’ to portray ‘true’ Australians, whatever that is. In the end ‘Transparent’ is really just a story of one family where the father is transitioning.
I must admit while there were aspects of the first series I did enjoy it did seem to me that the programme was more about a dysfunctional family where one parent happens to be transitioning.

Hi to all TGR and Merry Christmas to everyone.

This post is not so much about the Tv series Transparent as the fact that in order to promote it there was a full front page wrap around ad for the series in the “Melbourne Age” today.

Cant imagine such a thing even ten years ago, so perhaps we “gender diverse” are seeing glimpses of acceptance… At long last…
