I find this ad very disturbing; I don’t think it does trans people any favours at all. This sort of sexualisation of the trans body is just a form of exploitation, commodifying the ‘shock’ value. And it perpetuates stereotypes of ‘glamour’ and drag performance. Comes pretty close to the rad fem critique of men ‘colonising’ women’s bodies, or at least appropriating femininity. scary stuff.
