TgR Wall Forums Transgender Radio Admin… Vale Email Digests

I don’t often publicly admit defeat but the litany of issues surrounding the TgR Digest emails has finally got to me.
Before the “transparent to you” server move ( 😆 😆 😆 ) there were periodic problems with the daily/weekly digest emails being bounced as spam. In the old days this was because some disgruntled member had flagged their email to yahoo/google/hotmail as spam. But as the mechanisms used on the internet to kill spam email have got more sophisticated the issues in emailing regularly to a group such as ours has become increasingly technically complex.
The recent server move was the last straw as the new hoisting seems to enforce much stricter rules.

The last digest that was sent out resulted in literally hundreds of ‘advisory emails’ to me letting me know that emails could not be delivered.

So I’ve turned the digests off for good.
Perhaps the members who read the digests will log in more often to read what is new…but on the other hand we will loose some members who forget about TgR without the prompt of a digest.

What baffles me though is how I get lots of regular “special offer” emails from retailers who somehow manage to get round the spam filters and fill up my inbox.

It all proves there is no justice in this world!

I wouldnt woory too much Adrian
As a regular user of TGR i was usually ahead of what was being shown in the digests.

i agree some may forget to log in without the digest prompt but the world is divided into two sorts of people. those who regularly go into TGR forums and those who dont !!!

well done for persisting with it !!

Having spent much of my life working in IT I can well understand your frustration with the organisation you are currently dealing with. I think in recent years IT qualifications have been much easier to obtain (I well remember when qualification by multiple choice testing which did not allow for assessment of the candidate’ logic ability to be assessed. As a result the overall standard of IT support decreased).

But perhaps these are just the ramblings of a very ancient person!

Thank you for all the effort you have put into maintaining this part of the website, and I shall continue to regularly read the TGR forums.

I confess that I am one of those who needed the prompt to log in. With so much going on around us these days, sometimes the ‘other’ part of ourselves gets left behind.

I’ll set a reminder to myself to log in more frequently.

Thanks again for the fact that TgR exists.
