Although i have done my own make-up for years i have learned by myself along the way and also picked up a lot of bad habits. I have been seeking a profesional make-up artist for some time to set me on the right track and came across the wonderfully talented Danielle Ruth of WowFX ( http://www.wowfx.com.au ) in Melbourne. So i booked a 2 hour lesson in my hotel room on monday.

From the very start Danielle was extremely helpful. On the phone, and when i finally met her she just made a very nervous closet tgirl feel like it was the most natuaral thing in the world that we were doing. She started by talking to me about the colours suitable for my skin type and then looking at the outfits i had brought to match up colouring. Once established we started the lesson. Danielle’s approach is to walk you through step by step while she makes up one side of your face, she then gets you to do the other. No rush whatsoever and the results and confidence grew along the way.

Once finished, i took in the results in the mirror. I will admit that i couldnt stop looking at the results and found myslef quite overcome. Danielle helped yet again by showing me a trick to stop the tears and it worked! I loved the way she had highlighted my best features, matched skin tones and drawn out the colour of my eyes. I was looking at a very attractive woman and i loved it.

Danielle followed up with an email outlining all of the make-up she had used and the application steps. Invaluable i have just found as i tried to replicate her work. She is a teacher at TAFE as well as doing film work so she comes at a price. To me she was definately worth every cent and i cant recommend her highly enough. I have already decided to have another session in 6-12 months to see if i can advance still further

I totally agree – I saw Danielle a couple of years ago. She a lovely person and a great makeup artist. She loves doing makeup for t-girls and you wont be disappointed.
