Guest13/09/2011 at 9:02 pmThanks for the recommendation girls.
I just purchased a new wig from Playwithhair on monday and it arrived this morning (wednesday) in Qld from Perth! They were very helpful and quality is good. I looked first in several local stores but I spent hundreds less than I would have paid in one of the stores and its the same product.

Hi, actually the proprietor of playwithhair is Tim, a nice gay man who did drag shows but is not a CD. Mind you he did my makeover and took photographs.
I agree that the service you get from him is excellent and he is very helpful. I know he selects the wigs he gives me to suit my face, but then I am fortunate to be his accountant and friend.
Hugs, June

Guest06/12/2012 at 9:25 amJust recently discovered this Transfriendly local supplier of quality and affordable wigs and hair Pieces right here in sunny Perth. I wanted a replacement for my favourite wig which I coul’dnt match on the web. Tim at Play with hair asked me to call in and matched it exactly AND his range of styles is so massive I had to buy more styles. They are on the web at http://www.playwithhair.com where you can view styles and order with confidence. Tim also offers a style match service by appointment. Highly recommended, very Transfriendly and more than happy to suggest a style to suit you. PLEASE mention Rachel if contacting Tim at Playwithhair. YOU ROCK TIM!!! Rachel xx

Guest07/12/2012 at 4:56 pmThanks Rachel.
I have bought couple of wigs from him, though didn’t know his name but did know his sex orientation. Have had no problems with the items purchased and have eye on another couple of wigs.
I have also heard of other very happy T/girls in Perth Metro with service. -
I have known Tim for a number of years and have 4 wigs from him. He has recently moved to a new place that allows him to have clients visit. From my experience he is an honest trader and will do what he can to help resolve problems.

Tim is superb – sent a good friend around there recently, who came out really impressed with his advice – hair totally “hit the spot”.

Buying a wig is difficult and fraught with danger. So getting personal attention and sound advice will save you money and considerable frustration. In this case you are paying more for the wigs than other mail order services, but many would be happy to pay a premium to get it right.
As a matter of interest, I compared the prices of two human hair wigs from Playwithhair with Voguewigs and after adjusting for the exchange rate, the Playwithhair wigs were 37% and 27% more expensive than exactly the same wigs from Voguewigs (not comparing postage rates though).
As I said, the extra premium may well be worth it. The last human hair wig I bought from Voguewigs.com was around $700. I was dismayed to find that the colour was not the same as what I saw on my computer screen; in fact it was orange! I really should have returned it, but took it to a local hairdresser who re-coloured it, cut it and styled it to my specifications (through two iterations). She did it wonderfully and it is gone from being my most hated wig to my absolute favorite. But I did have to pay an extra $190 to get it right! So on balance, I think a visits to Tim may well be worth it, but if you just want a mail order withiout the consultation have a look at Voguewigs. I have bought both synthetic and human hair wigs from them with prompt delivery and no hassles, except for the disaster with the orange wig (now auburn). I guess they are allowed one mistake out of many.

Guest10/10/2014 at 6:55 amHi everyone
Even tho I live in regional Victoria, I too am a Play with Hair in Perth fan. First up, as a result from a trip to Perth last year, the wig in my TGR profile came from Tim. Secondly, when I wanted to drastically improve on the cheap on line costume shop wigs I originally had for my “periodical alter ego’s” (AKA “Lady Cetherine” and “Lulubelle Southern Belle”, Play with Hair literally came good with the goods and in Lady C’s case went to quite a lot of trouble to do so. The Red headed “Lulubelle” and silver haired Lady Catherine in my albums are the proof of this statement.
All folk on TGR ned to support those who serve us well and support us.
Happy Dressing
