Its an individual thing, and I say dress the way you feel. All GG’s do, so why should we not. If you feel sexy or slutty, dress appropriatley. If you feel like a buisnesswoman wear a suit, dressing is an individual thing and choice. :D

I agree, if in private or in the company of like minded friends or night time at a club, dress as you please, what what ever make you feel comfortable and makes you happy.

On the other hand if you are dressed in daytime, say at a shopping centre, as I have some experence at this, I think it would be inapropriate to go there crossdressed in a miniskirt, fishnets and ulta high heels for example. It would only attract unwanted attention.

I depends on the situation, and how you wish to be accepted by the people around you. In my opinion.

    Hi Muffin,
It depends if you are trying to pass as a woman or to make a statement.
If you are trying to pass if you look around and see what other women your age are wearinbg and wear that it helps to pass. If you dress too young it stands out, especially amongst women. If you want to do the fishnet short skirt fetishwear statement (and that’s ok if that’s what you want) then that’s fine too but you won’t pass for a woman and you are also at some likely to attract a bit of abuse, verbal or otherwise.
(Where I have mentioned the word you that’s the general plural you not the specific you. )

Muffin, GGs don’t have to wear make up, they are GGs and they look good without it. A quick trip down to the shops for a woman, why would they go to the trouble of getting their make up on?

For me, if I do not do the make up, well I look like a guy. Not a good look in a skirt or a dress.

for Me, as I am living full time now, when I go out, I wear what a gg would wear, sometimes a skirt and top, or a dress, other times a pair of shorts and a shirt.

I usually don’t wear make-up, especially when I am just going down the street, I may wear a bit of lippy and mascara, and I usually pass, in fact, I have been told by some people that yrs ago before I even acknowledged myself that I was a transsexual, They thought I could be a woman but weren’t quite sure and didn’t want to ask me, and that was when I was in guy mode.

If I go out or if I just feel like it, then I would wear make-up

Dressing ‘your age’ is hard since we’ve skipped girlhood, teenage experimentation and jumped straight to ‘woman’ in look. Generally makeup will take 5-10 years off your actual age, so that’s a guide. Also magazines are a great help. Every magazine has its own demographic (the age group it appeals to). You can usually spot its age group appeal by looking at the articles and fashion models. For instance compare ‘Women’s Weekly’ to ‘Dolly’ and its easy to believe there is 20-40 years difference in readership. ‘WW’ is actually a good starting point since it appeals to women from 20’s to 60’s and often has fashion advice covering this as well. In the glossies I find Madison has a good age spread whereas ‘Cosmopolitan’ would be great if I was under 30.

Study by observation is the other way. Its what women do.

My opinion is that , as social beings, the wearing of clothing per se , is always undertaken for an “audience”. Whatever we wish to wear, we do so in order to be seen and percieved by others.[ even if that be only ourselves in a mirror]. I once saw an Angican Minister in his ” uniform” after having only known him in his “civvies”. I commented that I had to readjust to his new IMAGE and he replied that he could not see the difference. I wondered why then he had worn his clothes if not to appear different in his role as a priest. Surely that is the point of uniforms after all?
As males who appear as women, to me, we should wear clothing so as to elicit the response we wish to receive.
The circumstances should dictate the style. On the other hand , if we are a male “dressing up” as a woman, we are free to appear as ANY woman that we wish, be that QE 1or Madonna {either one!} just be prepared for the reactions!!

Seems this could be a can of worms for those like Muffin who wish to find out ‘stuff’.
Dressing your age isn’t necessarily anything to do with the fish nets or mini skirt. Although I did get a shock when I visited Surfers many years ago and saw this vision coming towards me, tottering on stillettoes and wearing an ultra mini with boob tube and the hugest hair! As she got closer and my eyes adjusted to the light I realised she was old enough to be my grandmother and, sadly, looked it
The question I think is, what does Muffin want to know for? Just idle curiosity or is she planning on an excursion? Dressing to your age can also be relative to the district you visit. In my local shopping centre the majority of girls and women seem to wear jeans with t-tops, not generally of interest to us I feel as we wear jeans and casual tops most of our leisure time (in male mode I mean) but I have noticed a swing to long casual skirts or summer dresses lately, which can suit any age.
the only thing I can suggest dear Muffin is to go along to a shoping centre or mall and watch the ladies, see what they are wearing, all age groups. Pick an upmarket mall or shopping district to visit. It’s amazing how the areas can be so different.

I agree with Helen….and isn’t it wonderful to see women wearing skirts and summer dresses which seemed to be missing for so long. I think dressing your age or perhaps within 10 years of your age. I think it is possible for 60’s to dress 50’s, 50 to dress 40’s etc. 20’s dressing 10’s might be a problem.

I too have seen women dressing 30 years younger and it just does not work.

Muffin, go to the shopping centre and look see what women of your targetted age are wearing…..and enjoy

Apart from what I said, I do think it noteworthy that a couple of replies to this string mention fish nets, slutty, ultra high heels!!! Down girls, the question was about clothing appropriate to ones age!!! :D

Personally I like to dress close to my age because I feel more comfortable as this person
But each to their own – if you feel comfortable- wear it!

I have often wondered why often, CDs I meet wear clothes that are too small, too tight and really caricature women, but think that this is a fetish to those people rather than a desire to feel feminine.

I prefer to dress my age normally, and to wear clothes that fit me and are comfortable. Like wearing flats around the house rather than heels.

Then again, a nice school uniform???

    😆

    Hi all,

I haven’t had a chance to read every topic in the forums yet but this question came to mind. It may already have been discussed so I apologise if it has and point me to it please.

I often hear the phrase “dressing suitably for age” (or “in keeping with age”)…..and was wondering if this was just a generalised term everyone uses or maybe some form of dress code we are supposed to adhere to? Is dress sense based on age alone, physique, makeup application or simply how we feel in side? Or is it a reallity check I am forced to place on myself? Does it really matter what you wear if you feel ok about it yourself?

Thanks for any thoughts or advice,
    Muff xx

I am a big believer in dressing your age.

I could wear a mini skirt at 24, but at 58, no way. I love the longer skirts that women wear nowdays and that is what I prefer, even though I still have quite good legs, which I shave regularly. I am also going to get some stretch pants, now that I have padded panties to give me a bum.

“Does my bum look big in these?” … I do hope so ;-)

to me, i just dress in whatever i feel comfortable with at the time, or really, whatever is clean! i.e. today, im just wearing shorts and a singlet, (and yes my boobs almost fell out!!)

Im not a big user of makeup, mosty when i got out, i just tie my hair back . thats about it … unless im going somewhere special, Then I like to look nice :)

my thought is, i does not matter to me what i wear, because im all female anyway, so clothes are not a huge part of it ….
