Guest29/04/2007 at 6:42 amQuote:One of my female friends expressed the view that tolerance of x dressing by society would lead to effeminate men being produced an d hence the collapse of society . Ugh what a thought !hmm… what about those overly musculine women that exist nowadays..?!?!? are they all lesbians then..?!?!? or might there be a few that are still straight just that they are more in touch with the ‘man’ in them..?!?!? perhaps effeminate men are around to counter balance those overly musculine women..?!?! i wonder….
Quote:I agree that its not all that desirable to be part of the crowd , but if you run outside the crowd you certainly shouldnt feel alienation an dguilt for doing soIt will take someone of great courage to be able to run outside of the crowd and not feel alienated or guilt. These people would probably be the pioneers of the changes in society that we see in the present day…
Yet there are probably many TS/TG people that would rather be able to pass so well that they fit right in with the rest of the world… and some of them would even go into some kind of deep stealth mode and even deny ever being born of a different sex…
Quote:Why not strive to be different, individual, weird, and unique.i like that idea… why not indeed..!! after all we are unique, individual expressions of Life and Nature…
i’ve once read something on the internet about gender… the author of that article went so far to say that there should be 6 billion different genders, in essence, that’s to say to have one gender for every individual that exists on this planet…!!!!

Guest04/05/2007 at 12:01 amI now feel that the % who crossdress is partly irrelevant to society’s acceptance of the practice.Naturally I feel a high % would help me validate my practice of it easier ,but when I look at it logically it doesnt matter whether its 5 or 10 % or 15 % .If society doesnt accept it much then this is what the real issue is .
Speaking of societies I read some time back that on one of the pacific islands – either Samoa or Tonga it was a practice that if too many boys were born into a household then one or more boys were kept at home to be raised as ( sort of ) girls doing the cooking, housework etc while th men went out to earn a living. They were dressed and treated as girls from day one. From what i can remember the boys adapted to their lot in life and this would have been helped enormously by that societys attitude to them.Im not saying that the repressed role that they and womne there ha dto play was good just that conditioning and acceptance helped them a lot …
I also read when young the ideas of some shrink who said that transvestism was caused by young lads being exposed to female clothes and then being so attracted to such thet they were then given a desire all their lives to cross dress – thus allowing young boys to dress was evil and ladened them with a burden that would be with them all their lives …
perhaps he was right , but his idea of preventing Cd ing was to have young males stopped at all costs from touching female clothes lest they have their lives spoilt ! _ ugh

Guest04/05/2007 at 12:08 amOh I forgot !
I was going to add that dressing is somewhat an addiction the way i see it .An addiction that is ‘uncurable’ if that be the right word for it .Ironically it seems to resist all attempts to stop in some if not a lot of dressers no matter how long the “rehab ” period has been …
How unjust that such a harmless addiction can cause such angst !

Guest04/05/2007 at 12:34 pmIt is interesting that Crossdressing is a term almost exclusively put on men but I think it a rare occurance that a woman would be as stimulated by the experience as most Cds are but ..so what? This just says that a man’s sexuality is different from a woman’s { I am being deliberately general here!] Is this a surprise?
It all boils down to the guilt and shame that Others have tried to push on to us. Any counsellor that I have spoken to would advise others to BE THEMSELVES. Who else can we be? I once asked a lover WHO she would like me to be. Arnie, Woody Allen, the yobo neighbour or her Father.
A bit unfair to ask really but it made the point how ridiculous it is to ask someone not to be who they are.
As I see it we can be TG and not express it openly ie ACT as though we aren’t so , or we can be TG and express it. We don’t have [should I say I don’t have ] the option NOT to be TG.
The only journey then is into self acceptance and finding somewhere to fit in this World.
As for percentages , I have met very few CD’s , a few have been outed to me by others but few have fessed up to me in person , the FOOTY SHOW had more than the usual suspects in past years but even they seem to now be in hiding!!
