Whether you want it or not….HEDWIG!!
Last weekend I travelled to Sydney to see the musical ” Hedwig and the Angry Inch” at the Tom Mann theare near Central. I would like to recommend it to anyone who loves rock music, theatre and Trannies! Who doesn’t???
The talented Sydney rocker iOTA does an excellent show and as I was lucky enough to see the film when it came out -8?? years ago, I found it true to the original. Well worth the trip, don’t miss it! -

Yep, I really love that movie too, I’d like to see it, but im in qld!
but once i saw it for the first time on DVD, I just had to buy the sound track, I still listen to it every know and again! normally singing my heart out in the car! Love, Anee .

I went to see Hedwig tonight. I had mixed feelings.
Sure its about dressing, SRS (admittedly botched!), gender confusion, incest, abuse, anxiety, depression, blowjobs, confusion, heavy rock’n’roll. All the usual stuff! Yes!!
But I felt it lost its way. Either heavy rock’n’roll or the message. For me it ultimately gave neither.
Loved Hedwig initially but then not sexual and camp enough. And at the end when he reverted to boy mode, I cried, metaphorically speaking.
That sad reminder when we’ve gone out all dressed and made up and had a wonderful time (or not), we get home and take it all off. What’s left is this sad gaunt naked figure looking at us from the bathroom mirror. Oh god! Is that really me?
Oh, the highlight, if you’re in the front rows, is you get sprayed by Hedwig. Don’t worry, it’s only water!
I’m really looking forward to the Rocky Horror Show…
