With the recent cool (read cold) weather and the extreme dry climate we are experiencing my wigs (generously donated to me by jane) are tending to frizz due to static as though I am standing next to a telly, Im sure you have all seen the effect that has on long hair.
Any ideas on how to tame them???

I was told by the lady in the Wig Affair, Shop 11 Piccadilly Arcade 210 Pitt St Sydney that for synthetic wigs, you should use a metal tooth comb because a plastic comb or brush will generate static. She also recommended using products espec ially formulated for synthetic wigs – shampoo and conditioner.

Synthetic wigs are pretty vulnerable to narrow tooth combs or brushes as well, ordinary ones tear the filaments out of the cap, you can buy specially designed ones for wigs.
Another tip, which I learned through sorry experience is not to allow your synthetic wig to dry near a heat source, like an oven, a dryer or by leaning over a stove!!! **LOL** You end up with a weird version of an extreme ‘afro’.

    Hi Girls

I have had some sucess combating the dreaded “Frizz”by using two products suggested to me by a lady in a wholesale/cash and carry beauty products place here in Tassie-in Hobart.
She sold me a product called Agadir-Argan Oil Hair treatment which I gently apply to the ends by pouring a little in the palm of my hand and work through the hair. This seems to keep things under control!
For washing my wigs, she suggested a shampoo and conditioner for hair extensions and sold me a product called Balmain Shampo for hair extensions-with a matching condition-all not cheap!
I washed and conditioned one of my wigs yesterday and am very pleased with the result.
I guess the next time I wear my wig will tell me the true result of how good the products are.
