McDonalds – now filming trannybashing

Write to the corportation & tell them they as a corporation, & their employees, are reprehensible scum – all they could do was film, an elderly patron (female) eventually chased the violent whores away, and employees continued filming even when the girl began convulsing

That is an appalling comment on society, not only the violent and continued assault by the two women on the third woman, but that the onlookers only thought to film it (presumably to sell to media outlets?) and not intervene. Why the doors were not closed when the offenders went out side is hard to understand.
I note that both the offenders were larger and heavier than the victim; perhaps that she was better looking and slimmer than they were did not help their feelings of inferiority and insecurity.

Guest23/04/2011 at 9:50 amI have complained directly to McDonalds Australia stating quite corerectly that as a result I will never step inside a McDonalds again. A friend of mine posted to their facebook site enquiring about their ts policies in Australia. They contacted her back with the message that her posting was inappropriate and would be removed. I think we have had our answer from McDonalds.
I have been quite seriously affected by this video. Don’t watch it unless you have a very strong stomach. It contains very graphic violence accompanied by laughter from the McDonalds staff. And the poster from McDonalds of the video complained that it wasn’t a woman being attacked. It was really a guy.
I have never been more disgusted.

Guest24/04/2011 at 12:38 amMcDonalds have issued a statement abnout this:
Quote:Our Concern Regarding the Baltimore IncidentThere’s no room for violence under the Golden Arches. We strongly condemn the videotaped assault in one of our Baltimore franchised restaurants. Working with the authorities, we now have more facts, and we want to share our actions with you.
First and foremost, our thoughts are with the victim during this time.
Our franchisee is investigating the behavior and response of his employees. Action has been taken, and the crew member who made the video is no longer employed by his organization. Appropriate action regarding other employees will take place as warranted.
We want to reassure our customers that your neighborhood McDonald’s is a safe, welcoming place for everyone. We share our customers’ concern. We are doing everything possible to make sure the right thing is done.
Note that they are treating this as a “violent” incident, not one of hate, discrimination, vilification, nor gender identity rights to use toilets (“public accommodations rights”).
Sigh, we have such a long way to go.

“Police responded to a report of a woman having a seizure” – not the assault.

That’s not the half of it, Virginia.
The important point showing this, from McD’s reply, I’ve copied below.Quote:Our franchisee is investigating the behavior and response of his employees. Action has been taken, and the crew member who made the video is no longer employed by his organization. Appropriate action regarding other employees will take place as warranted. It’s NOT McD’s carrying out the investigation, but rather the local franchise holder.
McD’s do not refer to the employee as being employed by McD’s, but rather being employed by the local franchise holder.
In short, McD’s are claiming in their response letter that it is the local franchise holder and employees of same that are at fault, and not McD’s.Jenifur Charne

Guest24/04/2011 at 4:43 amA dear GG friend of mine posted the video on FB,and it made me sick to my stomach…I’m sharing it on my page also, and I’ll be putting up a post to suggest that anyone who is disgusted and upset by what happened to boycott Mc Donalds for good, and perhaps those girls on here that are on FB also will do the same…it’s the only way we’ll get the message across.like Gwendoline,I’ll never set foot inside one of their stores again.I hope that the authorities can find some way of charging those that just stood by and watched with neglect of some sort…how would they feel if that was a family member of their’s it happened too?..come on girls,it’s time to pull together and show the world that we will no longer tolerate and accept this kind of behaviour being directed at us.

Just shows what some folk think. We’re just garbage. McDonalds always sold crap anyway so giving them away permanently is no loss. I question who is the worst McDonalds or the local police in the way this episode has apparently been handled. As I say in some peoples eyes we’re just garbage.

Guest25/04/2011 at 1:32 amVery disturbing images from that video.
However, remember there are always 2 sides to a story. I would like to know what actually happened to trigger this event. Too many times we cry wolf and say ‘We are being discriminated” however when you dig a little deeper, there is actually something else going on. Perhaps it was personal and involved an old boyfriend, husband, wife, mother or something like that???
People do not just bash you without a reason and I’m sorry if this upsets some people here but, people just don’t bash you because you are a transgender, black, white, Jewish, Asian, or a Christian. Correction, they do however it’s a small percentage of the population these days. Does the KKK still hang black men from trees in Mississippi?
Is that what really happened here? Are you sure? Do you have all the facts?
Personally, I’m very upset as some of you are that nobody stepped in sooner and stopped it. I would have.

Guest25/04/2011 at 4:23 amAmy, please do not even start to try and blame the victim for this. The poor transwoman has responded and stated that the attack was transphobic. Given the location race may also have played a part. There CAN be no excuse for this. And don’t forget that the only person to physically try and intervene, an older white woman, was also assaulted by these animals.
Was there a trigger? Maybe. But what we saw was a continued attack and a lack of assistance simply based on who she was. A white transwoman.
That’s all I have to say.

Guest25/04/2011 at 11:29 pmGwendoline, it’s not about blaming. The evidence coming out would suggest all involved, including some of the employees of this fastfood outlet were know to each other. It wasn’t a random assault. The issue is about the response by this corporation – who go to great lengths to ‘educate’ franchisees & trainee managers about corporate policy
A callous & indifferent society has pushed a very young woman onto the streets. What I object to is, McDonalds promote their outlets as ‘safe’, somewhere where you can take children. This girl has gone to McDonalds to use the bathroom, because it is supposed to be ‘safe’. She has mentioned her assailants challenged her because she’s spoken to someone boyfriend.
McDonalds failed in their duty of care. The Police were not called until this girl began convulsing, as a consequence of a prolonged assault.
I’d be more interested in viewing the in-house (security camera) footage, including in the bathroom, so we can see just how long this assault took place – how long employees failed to call the Police for assistance.
The man who initially sought to intervene should be praised, as also the older woman. Two Samaritans amongst the group of ghouls. It’s limited what is safe for a bystander to do in such a randomly violent gun obsessed country. Nobody called the Police
Watch other onlookers getting out of the way of the camera when the moron panned across to them. They knew it was wrong.
The bottom line is, McDonalds have a long history of trans-discrimination, including refusing employment to a schoolgirl in Florida, this year, because of her non-conforming gender. Try to access ANY wesite with the prefix TRANS using their “free” wireless service for customers. It’s blocked. This organisation actively discriminates against the Trans-community

If it was to happen to you or some one you know would you not want it to be filmed so you had video evidence other then the partial store footage security tape if any????

Guest26/04/2011 at 3:17 amIrrespective of the gender, race or any other attribute of the victim, bashing is NOT OK. We don’t know what the “trigger” was – it shouldn’t matter. What trigger makes it OK to bash somebody?
What is extra disgusting is that people chose to video rather than intervene, and that nobody called the police.
Remember also that we (trans people) are not the only people to have been bashed for being who we are, or sometimes even for no reason at all. Last year here in Australia, people who appeared Indian were being bashed.
It is a sad reflection on society that there are few good Samaritans. Given that they are themselves at risk when assisting others, it is not surprising that fewer people choose to intervene. However, even if people choose not to intervene out of an understandable sense of self-preservation, it is very sad that nobody considered using their phone to call the police.
My Internet connection is too slow to be able to watch the video, so I can only go on the comments of others, so I apologise if I’ve mis-stated anything here.

There appears to be only person video taping the bashing. No bashing is not okay but something had triggered it. There were probably only young kids behind the counter that would’ve been scared one person tried to help but didn’t succeed very well. As for calling the police i am sure some one would’ve as there will have been more then one phone in the place. As for taping it as i said before if i was in that position of being bashed i would like to rely on a little more then just the vague store security footage of it as well

Guest26/04/2011 at 6:20 amTania if the guy taped it for evidence for the police no one would be complaining. But he didn’t. He uploaded it to You Tube for entertainment. And his comments when negative feedback came back at him “Hey it’s really a guy in woman’s clothes” really underlined both his attitude and his transmysogeny. The whole thing is unforgivable IMHO.
