  A place to make announcements

  I’ve created a new forum called T-Alerts

  This is the place when you want to alert others
  [ul]about a program coming up on TV,
  an event that is happening in the next few days
  a special offer
  or, any immediate announcement[/ul]

  Why a special forum?

  Well… when these sort of posts are made in a normal forum someone has to come along a week or so later, find the post, and remove it… otherwise everyone gets confused about what is actually happening tomorrow!!

  Putting the alert posts in one place allows the system to automatically delete them after a week..
  ..so the alert folder only contains current information.
  Thus saving the hardworking moderators time.

  The Alert forum is also set up to NOT allow any replies.
  This is to avoid a discussion about the alert being deleted at the same time as the announcement.
  To discuss something post in the usual forums.
