Crossdressing, God and Me.
Posted by Anonymous on 05/06/2007 at 9:08 amCrossdressing, God and Me.
One of the most troubling questions I have had over the past two years or more, can I be a cross dresser, successful and a Christian. After a personal growth course which came after a bout of depression, (psychiatrist, medication, hospital, etc). The personal growth course lifted me out of the depression and the clutches of the health system. In doing so it bought me closer to Christianity. This brought angst, could I be a rich, successful, Christian cross dresser. Should I give up being a cross dresser, (if possible) and concentrate on being a Christian. My sin in being a cross dresser nagged at me, more to the point was cross-dressing a sin? I just wasn’t sure. Like most cross dressers, I have had the guilt and shame thing. But cross-dressing has been good to me, when dressed I felt good, I felt attractive, I was happy. Every outing out as Karen has been a positive experience. So you could see my dilemma. Religion versus crossdressing.
The last six months has been quite an internal struggle, then throw money in to the mix just to top it off. Was it a sin to be well off? The Bible wasn’t helping much. Lots of guilt and shame in there for your spiritual comfort. March 2007 came round and I decided to do the personal growth course again, so early May I rocked up to Haberfield for a two day course. During the course my internal struggle came up. Someone mentioned a book for me to read, Conversations with God. I was told it may answer some of my questions.
For the last four weeks I have devoured every word written by Neale Donald Walsch I could lay my hands on and I’m not even through a third of what he has written. These books have bought me peace, knowledge and happiness. Unfortunately the books are long and I could not summarise them here appropriately, except to say it is okay to be “Youâ€, it’s okay to be “Meâ€, it’s okay to be “Who I Amâ€, whether you’re a cross dresser or a rocket scientist. It’s okay to be joyous and happy and I think we are all happy when dressed. The books will transform the way you look at yourself and others; they will transform your life. A notable quotation, (one of many); “Fear and guilt are the only enemies of man. If you let go of fear, fear let’s go of you. If you release guilt, guilt will release you.â€
These books are available at the library (they were in my local area) or can be purchased on ebay or spiritual bookshops. There are the original trilogy Conversations with God Books 1,2 and 3. Friendship with God, Communion with God and many more titles as well, which I haven’t got to yet. These have kept me busy enough. There has also been a DVD released recently.
Happy and Joyous reading.

Guest06/06/2007 at 6:49 amThe Christian focus is overwhelmingly on sin sin sin sin. What a nasty little preoccupation to have dominating your life.
I would recommend Richard Dawkins book “The God Delusion” as a cure.

Guest07/06/2007 at 2:06 amIn a nutshell I agree with Janet. But I did get confused, are you asking advice because you feel guilty or are you telling you found a way not to be? Read the book Janet refers to if you want things put in a broader, although probably very radical, perspective.
I don’t want to insult anyone’s beliefs but (Here we go! I’m about to!). The stuff I read in the bible about cross dressing was written a few thousand years ago, there is also a lot of stuff about allowing slavery, treating your wife as chattel, not being allowed to handle football pig skins on a Sunday, so that drops a lot of football players in the poo!
There’s heaps of stuff like that. It’s a very interesting idea, but again, were you asking was it sinful or did you discover it wasn’t? -

Guest07/06/2007 at 6:52 amI read somewhere, an opinion by a “Biblical Scholar” that the Leviticus stricture against crossdressing was more about adopting pagan religious practiises than mere CD ing.
Apparantly it was common for some tribes neighbouring the Israelites to have rites where a shaman would dress in the clothing of opposite sex in order to be closer to their gods by avoiding the Duality that so many religions mention[ Buddhism is a noted example]
As an atheist I find this a plausible story as I cannot see why the Creator of Everything would be bothered about a woman in Levi’s or a man in a frock!
If however, one believes that ones eternal soul is at stake then I would advise one to take heed…An ABOMINATION is not something that should be toyed with! -

Guest08/06/2007 at 12:40 amHi all, In response to your question Christianity v Crossdressing. I have been involved with one church since a child and have read and discussed many more in the search for truth and hapiness. I have held senior positions in the church and have come to my own conclusions. Every few years it seems that the Old testament is dragged back up by one eligion or another, an eye for an eye, our justice system was based on that one, along with stealing, muder and others of the 10 commandments. What people miss in their quest for answers is that its he old testament, old meaning replaced with the new. Jesus came to save us all and to stop people tearing out eyes and cutting off limbs because they had sinned. He came with the word that all could be saved with just one heart felt beleif, the acceptance they he died and rose again for your sins. At Calvary, upon the cross the man hanging next to him asked if he could be saved, now you didnt get to hang on a cross for dressing, no murders and worse were crusified. Jesus response to this man was that he would indeed dine in the kingdom of heaven that evening as he had asked for forgiveness of his sins. It didnt matter what he was wearing, it didnt matter what crime he had committed, only that he beleived and had asked for forgiveness. Many christians in their quest to bring others to god and to have you join their ranks will use OLD testament to do so. please forget the old and read the NEW. It has a saving message for all of us, yes even crossdressers or transexuals. God knows who we are from birth, he knows what we do, and he forgives if you ask, even if it is at the last moment, just before death. Sorrry if i offend, but it is my beleif that if God has known me since the beginning of time, he also knows about my dressing and inner feelings. If he hadnt wanted me this way wouldnt he have changed me…… cant answer that one for GOd, but for me, he didnt create anything he didnt like, and there seems to be a lot of us…. my 2 cents worth….Nicole

Thank you so much. I have come across so many who seem to want to shove stuff down our throats and as you explain they do seem to get their opinions from the Old testament.
Thank you, even though I too am an atheist ( as Dave Allen used to say, I’m an atheist, thank God)

Guest08/06/2007 at 7:13 amWhen we look at the mess the world is in and the enormous burden of human suffering now and through out history there are two quotes I like.
One by Woody Allan “if there is a god then he is definitely an underachiever”
Two “gods only excuse is that he doesn’t exist”
Oh and a last one “if religeon didn’t exist, good men would continue to do good and evil men would continue to do evil but it takes religeon to make good men do evil”
Hope I haven’t caused too much offence.

Guest12/06/2007 at 8:09 amI have thought about a religion subject but was afraid to take the step in fear of conflict, like politics
I have been wrestling with God’s point of view and crossdressing from the time my crossdressing started at 11 years of age.
I feel God is still in my life by the convenient paths he is leaving for me to choose towards the direction of his wish. It is up to me to make that choice as God has given us all a free will. A book I came across many years ago in tune with the bible is SATAN IS ALIVE AND WELL ON PLANET EARTH is worth looking at. The deception. I normally don’t look at man made books as inspiration unless it is in tune with the bible and quoted properly. Yes it is a mine field. There are so many ideas to lead people away form God. There is a belief to suit everyone. It is not our way but it is GOD’s way, the promise to eternal life.
I am under attack by Satan, consistently. He wants me to go his direction. I know the path to God but have not taken the direction, so far. There is JOHN 3:16 but that is only the surface as the bible says you also have to be a doer of the word. That’s the hard part.
Satins attack was initially on me mentally, creating hate, hate and more hate, particularly when driving. When I realised what was going on I payed to God thru Jesus Christ to release me from this torment with instant relief, every time without failure. As I consistently kept doing this, Satan’s effect in this area diminished but he was planning something else, transgenderism, hidden inside me. With the decrease of mental torture there was a steady incline on urgency to become female. I know this is not from God as Satan is nurturing it. Becoming female is a great feeling and like Christina says An ABOMINATION is not something that should be toyed with!â€. So now this is on my mind all the time. Biblically hormones would come under defiling the body like smoking, drugs etc
I agree with Nicole for all except “If he hadnt wanted me this way wouldnt he have changed me..
“We became imperfect as a result of Adam and Eve sinning and we have inherited this increasing imperfection causing a chaotic Earth. God has let this imperfection happen FOR A LIMITED TIME only, but this will end when Jesus returns and a new earth. Those chosen at the judgement will at Armageddon will cross over to a new earth with changed perfect bodies and those who have died prior and after the death of Jesus Christ the righteousness and unrighteous will be resurrected,. I pray that he will change me female if I am chosen
God created a family not a religion.
Don’t forget the ten comandments were the basic ten there were a lot more. Very disobedient children could be put to death under the Mosaic Law. These commandments were between the Jews [God’s people] and GOD, not the gentiles [us] So the Mosaic Law does not applies to us. Like Helen said Jesus came to replace the law. The only commandment is LOVE. If you love then would do the right thing anyway because of love and would automatically obey the law regardless of source.
Janet If GOD is not in someone life. Who moved? I know I did. I have had many direct experiences from the spirit world. For one, we were moving house and there were artefacts from my uncle from Nigeria. I prayed to GOD to remove spirits from these idols. I got such a backlash that for a moment I thought my life was about to end. It took two hours to recover. There is a spirit world. I look at the complexity of hormones and the workings and biology, the plan. Evolution is a sick joke. When Pioneer 10 went past Jupiter the Sky and Telescope magazine said that they had to throw out all the theories and start again. Man stubbles again. So my FAITH is in God’s direction. GOD loves you Janet, Joanne_Shah, Vampirella, Helen, Karen, Christina, Nicole. I do respect all your opinions.
I am hoping some day that after transition that I may be baptised and honour GOD as a woman. Time will tellJane Anderson

Karen.I am not religous in any way.
I wouldn’t want to believe in a God that condemned me to hell for all eternally simply for wearing lipstick, a short skirt, high heels and my hair in pigtails anyway…

Guest13/06/2007 at 3:32 amOh Dear. Religion. What a box of dice.
I thought Jesus said listen to him and not what has gone before.
He didn’t mention crossdressing, in fact most of it boiled down to love one another and summed it up with do unto others as you would them do unto you.
I think that lets anyone off the crossdressing guilt thing.

Guest13/06/2007 at 5:35 amThe bible mentions obeying the law of the land [Secular governments] . If you can’t obey these laws how can you obey the laws in heaven. That means obeying traffic rules, paying taxes [no hiding, God can see everything]. So it can be said speeding is wrong as far as God is concerned
The bible also says about defiling the body. It may not mention street drugs like speed or similar but i can easlily be concluded that speed is against God’s will.
Similarly there is a similar passage in the bible relating to changing sex and wearing the other sex’s clothes.
I will dig it up in the next day or three as I came across it only two weeks ago. I will edit this paragraph to update keep things togetherJane

a strange thing, this topic.
A noted USA Rabbi puts the Leviticus passage of the Torah into some semblance of perspective.
At no point in the text of this book passage does it even mention the wearing of women’s clothing !!!
To paraphrase the text, more correctly than ‘modern translation’ ,“A woman must not put on that of a man and a man must not put on that of a woman”
At no point does the text mention or infer the clothing of the opposite gender!
At the time that the Torah was written, it was more about the uncleanliness of women and ‘that time of the month’ more than clothing factors.
And if it is to believed, they all wore the same types of clothing then as many do now in that section of the world !!

Guest13/06/2007 at 11:53 amA woman shall not wear that with pertaineth unto a man
Neither shall a man wear a woman’s garment
For all that do so are an abomination
Unto the lord, thy godThis is actually spoken on our demo album (Our Tranny band “Velvet Phallus”).
Anyhow – you should all praise the dark lord, Satan. He’ll let you wear a frock. Also, he’s reaaalllllly hot. All red and muscular – with those big, manly horns.
