  • Do you have an all time favourite movie?

Posted by Anonymous on 17/11/2009 at 3:21 am

I don’t know if my profile expressed this side of my personality but I love movies. Mostly the non violent type, without swearing and sexual content. No I’m not a prude I just like the hint that sex is happening not the explicit full frontal in your face everything out in the open type. With that in mind I have developed a list of movies that are my all time favorites. By this I mean the ones that come out of the cupboard and get watches on a regular basis. So without further chatter here are my favorites.

    1. Same Time Next Year
    2. To Wong Foo thanks for ever………
    3. Sleepless in Seattle
    4. You’ve got mail
    5. Groundhog Day

I could go on but I think 5 is enough.

    Hugs Pamela!

    Patlabour (Japanese)

    The Third Man
The Godfather I & II (treat it as a single 7 hour epic!)
    The Apartment
    Withnail & I
    Matador (Almodovar)
    Mulholland Drive
    Down by Law
    Cabaret
    Blade Runner
    Vertigo

OK I’ve had to split mine up into genres.

    Drama – G.W.T.W. / Shawshank Redemption
Action – Top Gun / Raiders of the Lost ark
Comedy – Blues Brothers / Flying High / Home Alone
    Musical – Grease / Oklahoma
Sci Fi – Blade Runner / Alien (s)
Western – Pale Rider / Unforgiven
War – Battle of britain / Patton

Oh so many to choose from. But nothing with Bruce or Arnie!!!

And by the way Penny, my Greek relos regard My Big Fat Greek Wedding as a Documentary not a comedy!

    Hugs

Ground Hog Day? lol!!! I struggle watching some movies over and over and this is doubly hard because it repeats and repeats and repeats. Though yeah there are some funny scenes. ^_^

I guess I should update my list as I have three new must see movies that are now very much in my top 20 fav movies list.

Whip It: Ellen Page is stunning and a great actor to boot! This movie consolidated that for me and encouraged me to track down as many of her movies as pos! Mega-Ellen-Fan! Juno is still my fav Ellen movie though!

She’s The Man: seriously funny movie, when a ‘girl’ girl acts like a boy it’s cute and funny, but this takes it to dizzy new heights! One movie I had to watch with my parents just to share the lols. Her facial expressions alone are enough to have me on the floor lol!

The Ugly Truth: another movie I had to show my parents, my dad loved it more, well he loled the most. It has one of those plots you just think ggrrr I refuse to watch this movie because of that, but they do it in a very tongue-in-cheek way that makes it hilarious. The restaurant scene is possibly my favourite scene of any movie I’ve ever seen!!

I have many favourite movies but if I had to choose one only , it would be Lawrence of Arabia, a great film about a great gay man and a fascinating character.
