Guest28/03/2011 at 5:59 amFavorite movies? Seems we have some and we all move with time, but my stand out movies, that, I never get sick of watching, no matter how many times I view them: Blade Runner – Harrison Ford, 12 Monkeys – Bruce Willis, Benjamin Button – Brad Pitt (hmmm…any Brad Pitt movie really), Pirates Of the Caribbean – Johnny Depp, The Last Detail – Jack Nicholson, The Chronicles Of Riddick – Vinn Diesel, Angel Heart – Mickey Rouke, all the Jason Bourne movies and Green Zone – Matt Damon

Guest28/03/2011 at 9:08 amHow can anybody not love Shelly Duval as Olive Oyl & Robin Williams as Popeye. It’s pantomine, it’s a musical, circus and just such a well told story – the cartoon brought to life – a genuine 5 star film for all the family to enjoy
Malcolm must be there, as also Hot Fuzz. The Coen Bros. get a look in with No place for Old Men, closely followed by Burn After Reading.
But the most beautiful ever love story come drama is the Oscar winning The Crying Game – 6 stars – I cried (happy tears) at the end.

Guest28/03/2011 at 9:05 pmI have always loved Lawrence of Arabia (1962)
I saw this movie 4 times when I was a kid and now on dvd, can watch over and over again.
The desert, the Arabs, the lonliness, Peter O’Toole. Above all; the soundtrack
– which I have on vinyl.
This movie won 8 academy awards in ’62 – how can it ever be forgotten ??I am so thankfull I saw it on the big screen in ’63 -’64, and that thundering soundtrack. Pure magic, puts an awful lot of modern flicks to shame.
is this relevant??
Jannine.XX
Ps. for a real chickfest feast, try Sucker Punch. At the movies now.

Guest12/01/2012 at 10:28 pmPrincess Bride or Pan’s Labyrinth depending on my day.
Oh it seems a simple answer to a simple question is not long enough for the forum. Hmm, ok, so perhaps if i take the time to spell out what you all almost certainly already get from that answer. ie: some days are girl days and some are boy days. Sometimes one more than the other.
The former is my girl movie with a little for the boy in me and the latter is my boy movie with a little for the girl in me.

Guest12/01/2012 at 11:07 pmHi ladies,
I dont have an all time favorite, but two recent ones “caught my attention”.
For a good laugh and a “feel good movie”, “Made In Dagenham”. Based on a true story about 117 female machinists whom bought the Ford company to a standstill in the early 60’s over the battle for equal pay.
Then for us “superannuated” old CD’s,Inside Job”.The Documentary about all those fat cat “expletive deleted” Wall Street types whom not only profited from the GFC on the way up, but on the way down as well. None of them went to jail over it all and most of them are still working in positions of “high economic authority”. I really burst a bra strap when one recently tried to lecture the “Euro Zone” about getting their act together.
Both are available on DVD.

I’ll have to admit my favourite movies are without doubt, chic flicks, Thelma and Loise
Fried Green Tomatoes
Thelma & Louise, pure escapism, what many of us would like to do at times.
Fried Green Tomatoes, a story of women’s friendship, a bit of a tear jerker. -

Guest09/09/2013 at 9:37 pmLove all those Hugh Grant movies but for some reason whenever someone asks my fav movie, I always think straight to Pan’s Labyrinth, even skipping right past empire strikes back and blade runner. Oh oh oh! Bambi! That always makes me cry.

Guest10/09/2013 at 6:39 amHi Girls,
I have several movies that I watch often.
First, the classic African Queen, with the delightful Katherine Hepburn.
Then Under the Tuscan Sun, with Diana Lane.
But my favorite would have to be Just Like a Woman, starring the lovely Julie Walters.
Hope that you like them too.
Hugs,
Connie. -
Over the years there’s been plenty I’ve called favourites but a couple from many years ago really stand out:
The early Tammy movies, especially Tammy and the Doctor. I remember as an 8 year old watching this one Saturday matinee but never being game enough to tell my mates what movie I went to see.
The Franco Zeffirelli 1968 version of Romeo and Juliet.
The Tamarind Seed with Julie Andrews and Omar Sharif.Lots of blokey-type movies too but those above stand out.

Guest23/09/2013 at 8:57 amHello girls,
My all time favourite is Guess who’s coming to Dinner with Katherine Hepburn, Spencer Tracey and Sidney Poitier.
2 The Shawshank Redemption
3. Life of PIAnd strangely enough there was a movie called “I want what I want.
That I first saw in the late 70s. It was this movie that probably awakened me to who I was.‘This is the story of a young man’s slow transition into the woman he always knew he was meant to be. Roy/Wendy played by Anne Heywood takes the plunge, leaving her abusive father’s house and starting life anew as a woman. Through trial and error she learns the skills and consequences of being a woman as well as the terrible problems involved in not being considered fully female.’
