Wow ..such an amazing story! It just goes to show… something happens and it seems like the end of the world but with time everything (more or less) irons itself out.
Just on friday I was out at what I thought was a safe pub and I saw an old work friend, we looked each other in the eye and gave that …’I know you don’t I’ stare. I don’t know any of the guys she was with and at the end of the day it doesn’t really matter as I’m not in touch with anyone from my old work. It was still a good wake up call to the fact it could happen anywhere/anytime.

I agree with most of the comments here. Coming out should be a gradual thing but in your control. Losing control of who knows is the biggest fear.
I have not told my family anything yet but my wife’s best friend knows and has suggested not to tell anyone and she will not be telling her husband because he is likely to make snide remarks and definitely do not be dressed in front of her young boys.
I think people who you have told and keep your secret are the ones to ask about who you should and shouldn’t tell when they know the person. Unfortunately, not everyone know how others will react.
I told a person at work because she had a secret which she wanted me to keep (she goes to Sportsman Hotel to not get hassled by drunk guys). Yes I know not a very threatening secret. Don’t tell about me and I won’t about you. Like who would lose. Anyway, I told her while out smoking and we discussed it there and then I did see her again for a week. Thinking she did not want to talk to me about it anymore. Next time I saw her, her first comment was have you been on holidays. It seems we were just not going out at the exact same time. You can never tell what the other person is thinking.
I know my mother-in-law, if she found out, would emotionally put pressure on my wife to leave and she would be pressured into making a choice between us for her sanity sake. Her friend agrees this is what will happen. So she pressures me about not taking too many chances. She is happy with me going out at night because her mother almost always doesn’t.
I think it is always best to be the one in control of who knows.

I hope all goes well.I had a situation recently where my work colleagues found my usb and looked at it,To there suprise was me dressed as Peta and some really naughty pics no need to elaborate on that one.I stressed that much that i had a breakdown.That is when i told my wife about me.
