2007 Priscilla on Stage
Ladies,
I went to see Priscilla on Stage last night in the pleasant company of Amanda, Caroline, Jan & Julia at Star City in Sydney.
We had dinner at Chao’s Thai on the lower ground floor before the show. Food was good and not expensive (ended up less than $30 per head with drinks).
The show is certainly great, the costumes were spectaular and the organisation fabulous. Our tickets cost $95.
We had no problems with the general public, nice smiles from the women and I think the men were saying “I wonder how I would look in that dress” – hehe.
Unfortunately, the general public seemed unwilling to talk to us but a couple of ladies jumped to our rescue when we wanted some group photo’s taken. I think the barman made a play (for Julia and/or myself)when we were leaving.
The show is on a very prompt timetable so if your going make sure you are there before commencement otherwise you will be locked out until the interval.
After the show we had the pleasure of meeting Adam the producer of the show who spent a great deal of time with us explaining the time frame to set up the show and cost. 4 years in the making and costumes cost over $1.5m (but they are great). It is unlikely the show will move to other states as the cost is $1.5m to move.
Adam hopes the show will run to Christmas and then move to London.I mentioned that the Seahorse Ball is on 18/8/2007 and I will try and organise a pre-ball group and he in response will arrange to get us the best tickets in the house – great gesture. I will post some details of this in late June/early July.
I can certainly recommend the show, it is great entertainment and costumes fabulous. No threat to us girls as there is heaps of security.
It was a great night and in good company.
The only expensive part of the night was parking – cost me $39 for about 6 hours but that seems the norm nowadays.Recommend the show for everyone.
Cheers,
Wendy
