SEAHORSE BALL 2021 CANCELLED
This morning I received the email below from the Sydney Seahorse Society
50th ANNIVERSARY WEEKEND IN KATOOMBA HAS BEEN CANCELLED.
……….ANOTHER VICTIM OF COVID……….
With the current Covid19 lockdown around Australia, not only in NSW, the Seahorse Society Committee has reluctantly decided that the event scheduled for Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th August is no longer practicable and has therefore been cancelled.
After waiting as long as possible, the extension of the lockdown to five weeks with likely further extension, the uncertainty is too great, not only for the logistics of staging the event, including the availability of the Carrington Hotel itself, but also for any current or prospective attendees.
The Committee is aware of concern about cancelled flights, the prospect of being unable to return home and/or being forced into quarantine. The planned Sunday bus tour has become a casualty of the demise of the bus company itself, which is symptomatic of the effect of this on-going pandemic.
An orderly roll out of ticket refunds is underway so please be assured that delays will be kept to a minimum. If you are concerned that it has gone astray please call the Seahorse Society phone on 0476 385 367 or send an email to social@seahorsesoc.org Accommodation cancellations will require direct contact with the Carrington Hotel. While only 48 hours minimum notice is required, early action is recommended to avoid this being overlooked and incurring a cancellation fee on your credit card.
The Committee is appreciative of the support shown through ticket sales and regrets have to take this action. In the current circumstances, we are sure you will fully understand that there was simply no alternative.
Noelene Williams; President.
I would like to thank the Sydney Seahorse Society for making this difficult and unfortunate decision 4 week from the event and not leaving it to the last minute in the off chance it might go ahead most likely with numerous restrictions.
All your anger
All your hurt
Doesn't matter in the end
Those days go by
And we all start again
What you had
And what you lost
They're all memories in the wind
Those days go by
And we all start again
Stars still burn bright
Seasons change overnight
As we find a way the times
They come and go
Look back in love
A new day rises above
With the wind it comes
To carry you back home
From, Days Go By, (Dexter Holland)Rosemary
