Some avatars will not longer be displayed in the forums
I have once again received complaints about a few of the avatars associated with profile pictures.
The avatar was always expected to be ‘a face’ – which is why new members start with a standard model face.
It is the picture of who you are talking to – as discussed at great length in this thread
http://forum.tgr.net.au/cms/forum/F168/1116-116The issue that has arisen is that the avatars are displayed against posts in the forums, and a few avatars either are face-less or display parts of the anatomy that you would not normally “talk-to”.
This is a case where we have to act to maintain the integrity of the forums for everyone. So from now on, any avatar that is ‘face-less’ or in ‘questionable taste’ will get a block preventing it from displaying in the forums.
The blocked avatars will still show on profiles and elsewhere in the site. This change only affects a very few people, but should improve the viewing/reading experience for many.
