  I just caught a small piece on PBS News Hour this afternoon (SBS Tues-Sat 4.30-5.30pm). President Obama is hosting a USA-Africa leaders meeting to promote US exports and investment in Africa (the Chinese are doing too well!)
  There has been some criticism from human rights groups that some African countries have a bad human rights and corruption record.
  After a few interviewees who were pro-business, they brought on Nicole Lee, immediate past-president of Transafrica, for balance. Despite the name this is a group that promotes USA-Africa human rights issues generally. I was gob smacked that in a very brief statement of Africa’s human rights issues she slipped in LGBT. Nice I thought, just part of the general human rights issues that need addressing in the world.
