Hi all,
I am really looking forward to seeing Victoria and Gina’s documentary.
Any one know how it is going?

Interesting subject.
I have personally witnessed people volunteer selflessly and take all the negatives on the chin and enjoy their involvement to the full.
I have witnessed others who fall at the first hurdle. It makes me doubt their motives somewhat. Perhaps they should not have been involved in the first place.
It is a bit like lending money. I don’t lend it if I cannot afford to lose it. If I am paid back I consider it a bonus.
Volunteering can be very rewarding – when you do not let the peanut gallery get to you.

Administrator24/05/2012 at 1:49 pm in reply to: testosterone blockers – what are the effects?Hi Lauren,
As much as I’d lke to help you out on this one, unfortunately all my body and physical functionality changes are a direct reult of a full HRT regime, which includes T blockers.
Therefore the results of T blockers alone cannot be defined. If you were to check the NSW Gender Centre website out, they have a series of downloadable PDF’s which should answer your query.
Be safe, well and happy
Lotsa huggs

Administrator23/05/2012 at 2:56 am in reply to: A thread for those who just don’t get the messageWe all know what and how Transformal is run and none of US have the expertise to half cover all the bases as well as Amanda has done.
And the truth is none of us even know half of what is involved and how much effort is put in to produce as a finished product as brilliant as Katoomba was.
Why even Jenni Skunk was copius in her praise after her initial misgivings! Thanks Jennifur.
May I suggest and what I have found most useful in life today and especially in regards to the instant world we live in, is to stop and count to 10, a 100 if need be before writing a tirade of abuse and expert commentry. And try to see the world from both sides and which is what we ask the world to do for us.
After all once those words wrote in madness are ‘out there’ it is there for ever and could be embarassing as well.
I actually found the UTA gals and their ‘dreaded camera’ totally unobstusive and I actually didnt get the chance to have a discrete say.
As for the photos I have no problem with Attendees Only seeing them, very reassuring AManda as they were taken at a Private Function after all.
Four cheers for Amanda. -

Administrator22/05/2012 at 3:14 pm in reply to: A thread for those who just don’t get the messageBefore we totally lose the perspective of where this thread originated from, I believe a little clarity is needed. In the beginning Amanda quoted
“I have created a Google album specifically for the photos taken at the weekend… as it looks as if there will be over a thousand! The album will be a private album, with visibility limited to those who attended TransFormal – which means I won’t have to check each picture individually for any red stickers!
Does any one have the slightest idea how much time would be expended to not only upload OVER a 1,000 photos, let alone check the intimate detail of each one looking for a red sticker??
I will then select a few of the best for general public viewing – when I get some time! “
As I operate a Broadcast Production House in Sydney, I find the statements above, more than adequately reasonable, as I understand the personnal that would carry out this operation are not paid for their services rendered.
Surely for someone who didn’t attend TF, that offering of the highlights of the weekend, would be sufficient to gauge whether they should attend next year?
In all honesty and if you study linguistics I did find Sonya’s opening statement quite confrontational, immediately followed by a personal attack on the site administrator. From there the attitude of the OP only became more derisive. I believe there is evidence, beyond reasonable doubt that the OP’s thread was at best, confrontational.
Certainly if there was a genuine reason to solicite an answer as to why the photos were for limited viewing; the question could have been couched in a far more effective and appealing manner.
And to finish off, as Lisa so aptly mentioned, there at tmes is TOO much testosterone floating round the ether. Something we need to be constantly aware of, as its subliminal presence can be the factor that determines how well we pass, or not.
With respect

Administrator19/05/2012 at 12:33 pm in reply to: how did it all start with you? How old were you?Hello ladies & gentlewomen. OK where to start, well as far back as around 5 year’s old I can remember seeing beautiful women & thinking how lucky they were to be female & look as good as they did. I use to always wish I was a beautiful woman. I admired they way they looked, dressed & how nice they smelt. Not a day went by without it always in my head, yet there was another side of me that loved boy stuff, sports, fishing, helping my father work on the car, general boys stuff. But always on my mind was this urge to be a girl, but it was like a tug of war in my head part of me wanting to be male & another part wanting so much to be a female. I remember some nights I’d lay in bed crying, so confused, scared & no one to talk to. I felt so alone with what was going on in my head to scared to tell my parents & growing up thinking I was a freak. Anyway the first time I dressed I was about 10 or so, in the bathroom just finished having a bath when I saw a nice dress in the washing basket that my mother had been wearing, I decided to try it on, the feeling when I put it on was one of amazement it felt fulfilling, whole………. & every time I went to have a bath from that day on I made sure I raided the washing basket looking for something to try on. I still get that same feeling to this day when I dress, like the first time, every-time. Then it went on to raiding the bags of clothes left beside the sallies bins & finding places where I could hide & dress. It would mainly be the toilets out the back of this old service station that rarely got used so some days I could hide in there for a hour or so till some one came knocking, then I’d quickly get undressed & bolt lol.
This is a brief outline of my story, hope you liked it, sorry if I bored anyone, cheers

I must admit to being surprised by Amanda’s email alerting us to the filming at TF. I was not sure how I felt about it but was not unduly worried.
Having read all the posts and concerns regarding the documentary I think there will nothing to worry about as long of a few ground rules are respected.
As agreed, Amanda must have the absolute say on final edit, no argument.
I do not have a problem with the filming but I do not wish to push my luck by offering to be interviewed for personal reasons. ( I just may have a child studying journalism who might well get to see it through student links. She is very perceptive and you can guess the rest)
I fully support the no partners filming rule. We are to a degree ‘in disguise’ they are not. No one would recognise Jan as ‘him’ but him as him they would (of course).
I would ask the students to restrict the Katoomba references if they have not already planned to. I realise the Carrington is easily identifiable but only to those who have been there and I would not like admirers and red necks or loonies travelling to Katoomba in future for what ever reasons they may have trying to get access to the event.
If done tastefully and discretely I believe a well made and presented doco to be a good thing for our public image.
Hope we don’t regret our generosity.
Regards,
Jan

Yes it is, was a shock to hear of a Documentry being made.
But I took a big breath and relaxed as it will be done carefully and voluntarily.
And as Amanda says ALL filming will be under strict conditions and I know I am safe as such.
Especially as there will be NO filming at the centrepiece of our week end in the Ballroom.
Also it is a shock that someone actually wants to try to understand where us malaligned souls really are for a change.
But personally I look better on radio so I wont be volunteering.
😮
Relax all as in no way will it spoil OUR big Gals week end.

I know Amanda is only trying to help our world and nothing She says is ever meant to be cruel or unkind.
Which is why she bothers to keep TGR going, for better or worse as it may be at times.
Yes we have all read until our brain bursts. And we all have different opinions but such is life.
Wheress like the simple Peasent Amamnda present he only has to worry about his simple STRESS free existence where he actually (and truly) ENJOYS life and the simple things he has we have such a complicated life in general fearing the unknowns and trying to conform.
Life today is extremely stressful, and it would be lovely to know how much and what percentage of us suffer even more so.
And basically we have everything we need. Except true peace and happiness.
As a Phillipino friend of mine says, ‘When I go home the people are so happy and friendly and they have no wordly goods. But when I come here everybody has everything, but I see very few smiles and very few are happy. And so many people go on and suicide! I am totally confused as Australia seems to be such a screwed up place.”
FTW and start to look after YOURSELF, because at the end of the day you are the only one who can.
