Plucking sound like a lot of OUCH!! to me

After a few times, you get used to it. It’s a lot like waxing or epiling legs, arms, armpits, belly, etc.

perhaps a some of facial cleansing and moisturising might help has anyone tried or doing this to assist in the ouch factor and assist the removal of the roots?

Or perhaps preperation with a hot towel ? may help ??

From my experience, doing the whole lot over with tweezers the first time or two, then using an epilator works best. I believe that a hot towel is supposed to help with brows, so might also help when manually tweezing.

When using an epilator, you don’t want to apply any cream, etc beforehand, as this makes the hairs slippery and they pull but don’t pull out. It would probably double the time taken and double the pain! Whatever you apply will also end up all over the epilator.

I have also wondered has any one tried out the E-Pen as advertised on television ? approx $180

I bought a cheap one of those years ago. I think that, after several minutes of use on each hair, the hair finally let go and came out. I don’t think that it prevented regrowth at all!

Or followed up witha har retardent. spray,as I have tried some cream hair removers that are said to have regrowth retartednt in them

I have one here that I keep forgetting to use. It’s called “Hair Free Gel”, and is from “Laura Marx”. I think that it helps a bit, but it’s hard to judge its effect when the epilation is reducing the regrowth rate so much.

I tried the “Skin Doctors Dermacuticals” stuff and the hair remover didn’t work at all. Leaving it on longer to try to get it to work burnt the skin and still didn’t remove the hair. The growth retarder that came with it did work, but not as well at the Hair Free Gel. Their “Ingrow Go” stuff also burnt the skin so much that I couldn’t use it long enough to see if it worked.

I find that the Johnson and Johnson “Hair Minimising Body Lotion” works well for retarding regrowth on legs, etc but haven’t used it on my face.

Savlon is actually the best thing I’ve found for ingrown hairs!

    I really wish you hadn’t.

I have no idea what makes you think that this is an R-rated forum, but I for one certainly don’t believe that details of your sexual activity belong here. I consider there to be a very significant difference between discussing preferences and discussing specific sexual acts.

Perhaps it’s me who is out of step with others here. If so, I’ll leave.

    Hi Girls,
I am thinking of shaping my eyebrows into a more feminine shape. For those that have tried what was your experience and the best way to do it?
    Gwen

Firstly, if you don’t already do so, trim them to a tidy length all over in order to get rid of any bushiness and tendancy to get strays pointing in odd directions. I personally trim mine to about 8 or 10mm all over using a “bikini line trimmer”, which has an adjustable comb on the front. It takes all of about 10 seconds per brow and can make a noticable difference.

For shaping brows, bear in mind that the current fashion is for fairly full brows, so you may not want to remove too much. Just enough to improve and define the arch.

Probably the best way to start would be to get then done by a beautician.Once you’ve seen the line that they create, you just have to follow that line when tweezing regrowth.

I have looked at several sites and see that “Breast enhancer” inserts are about $20 but I am more interested in the “Silicon Breast forms” that cost about $120.

I would love to hear from any happy customers who have bought either ?

I use both the enhancer types and proper breast forms.

If you look at the link in my first message in this topic, you’ll find 2 photos of how I use a $20 stick-on gel bra ‘enhancer” to create cleavage.

The breast forms worn with them are Amoena brand, and are a self-adhesive type. They cost $800 a pair.

If you want to show cleavage, you’ll need both, as I’ve shown in my photos. If you don’t want to wear low cut tops, you only need breast forms. Wearing a proper pair of self adhesive forms is very comfortable provided that the bra provides adequate support. Pulling up cleavage makes it noticably less comfortable, so I only use the gel bra when I want to show off cleavage.

You also need to work out the right size breasts for your body. The forward protrusion of the breasts needs to balance the rearwards protrusion of the buttocks, which needs to balance the width of the hips, which needs to balance the width of the shoulders!

I was just wondering if anyone out there has ever plucked all their beard hair out… roots and all? How long did it take? How long did it last before the hair grew back? Any bad effects as a result of pulling out all that hair?

Pulling out a hair does not pull it out “roots and all”. That is (unfortunately) impossible.

Many years ago, I tweezed my face a few times. I subsequently bought an epilator and have used one on my face ever since. I’ve since bought another smaller one that I use for doing my eyebrows and a newer, more modern one that I now use for everywhere else: face, arms, underarms, belly, pubic hair and legs.

If you’re worried about the pain, start by getting it waxed a few times.

How about some ideas on how I can improve my feminine bearing—-
    especially my walk.

In all seriousness, to achieve feminine grace, you need to learn a feminine form of dance. The best that I can suggest is belly dancing.

You also need to improve suppleness and flexibility, so if you’re not game or are unable to find a belly dance teacher who will take male students, yoga or tai chi are acceptable for both males and females and would be beneficial.

Thanks for offering the advice, my nerves aren’t quite up to it yet.

Here’s a suggestion to help you get started. As a male, go into op shops and browse the male clothing. Nothing wrong with that, is there? :)

Once you’re comfortable with being in the shops, it’s much easier to gravitate towards the female clothing. Also, I’ve often found clothing in the wrong places. Just looking through the mens racks, you may be able to find a ladies top or two. :D

Of course, since there are ladies clothes mixed in with the mens, it’s fair to expect that there could be mens clothes in the ladies racks. 💡 Sounds like a good excuse to me, although I’ve never found the need to use it.

If you’re uncomfortable carrying girly stuff around the shop and taking it into a changeroom to try on, grab a plain male shirt or similar first. Everything is generally on hangers. Carry that shirt around as you browse. Put it at the end of handful of items you’re carrying and fold the whole lot over your arm so that it is virtually the only visible item.

For someone who claims to be an author I was surprised that Ellen
(the owner of http://www.barkingduck.net/ehayes/ ) had copied the article “Women Who Once Were Boys” onto her web site without any attribution as to where she copied it from.
I don’t approve of this sort of disrespect of copyright.

It isn’t too hard to track down the real author Joseph Henry Press and the posting of the article on the web at http://www.nap.edu/books/0309084180/html/139.html
It is part of a book called The Man Who Would Be Queen: The Science of Gender-Bending and Transsexualism

I would encourage people to read the article here and not to go to Ellen’s presumably illegal copy.

    I must apologise.

I certainly don’t support this type of theft of intellectual property (that’s what failure of attribution is) and had no idea that the link that I posted had any such issue. 😳

I originally found the link when googling for something like “crossdresser passing”, read the whole article and thought that it might be of interest to others.

I guess that you could say that I posted the link in good faith, in much the same way as the Seahorse magazine has previously published at least one article submitted by a member without realising that the article was stolen from a tranny radio girl’s web site and not attributed. It’s a minefield out there. ❗

Ok so it finally comes out…. It is ME who is the weirdo…. In boy mode I am 100% totally and wholeheartly BISEXUAL…. I like boys as much as girls (both GG and TG) and unfortunately have been a little indiscrete at times about this in some straight clubs. When dressed, I have absolutely no interest in sex at all

I find nothing strange about that.

As a male, I’m completely heterosexual in a moderately disinterested way. Married with child and reasonably happy aside from the constant fight with depression that has been with me since long before my marriage.

As a female, I’m completely sexually disinterested.

Now, I’ve come to realise that it is well within the normal characteristics of a autogynephilac. :)

I find masculinity utterly repulsive and neither like looking masculine nor want anything intimate to do with a male. ❗ I’m content with my physical sex but have shifted my male appearance towards androgeny so that I don’t look too masculine.

I actually have a pair longline control briefs which come up to the bra line but they don’t seem to cinch the waist all that well. You may have to go retro and invest in a corset.

I don’t want the restriction of movement that a corset or cincher gives. I don’t really need to pull the midriff in that much, anyway. :)

I bought a 2-pack (one skin and one black) of the full length “slim n lift” today and have briefly tried one with a couple of dresses and a couple of tops.

So far, the only issues that I’ve experienced are that the legs are longer than I’d like (about 3/4 of the way down to the knee) and that the top edge doesn’t stay put as well as I’d like. The edge tends to sit a couple of inches below the bra at the back but is okay at the front. It also tends to ripple a bit a couple of inches from the top when you bend at the waist.

The top part from the waist to underbust works very well to flatten the bulge that I have there and it creates a nice smooth line along the sides. :)

They are available from Priceline – I wondered what they were like – I was bit scared off by the price just to see if they were any good. Terri, WA

Had a look in Priceline last night and it appears that they have the short version, which only comes up to the waist.

My main concern is finding something to shape between the waist and underbust, so I’ll probably visit the local Danoz Direct shop soon to see if I can get the full length ones.

Could anyone point me in the right direction to find a cd friendly op shop in or around Perth?

Not specifically in Perth but from my experience, almost all of the charity op shops are cd/tg friendly. I’ve only ever had one bad experience with staff in a charity shop, in literally hundreds of visits to dozens of shops.

It’s more a case of choosing quiet times of the week to avoid the less tolerant other customers. For that reason, I’d avoid Fridays in particular. Monday/Tuesday are often the quietest days (before social security payments mid-week).

It is a thing called “lift n Slim”. It is from Danoz and is on their website. I have bought a pack of these garments and they are great for pulling in the bumps and giving you a bum.
You get two garments, black & body tone for around $50 plus postage.

It’s actually called “Slim n Lift” according to the web site.

They look quite interesting, although I wouldn’t want them in black. I wonder if they’d do 2 skin tone for the same price. :?:

With the right padding underneath, these should hopefully work quite well. Only one way to find out. :)

The only problem that I can see is that, like a lot of body shaping underwear, you just about have to strip naked to go to the toilet. :(

Hi. I’ve been looking at wigs on line and on eBay. What sort of things should I look for (materials, etc) – one bands says their wigs have a “memory” so will keep shape well ? Is that true of some wigs ? Main problem is how do I work out style, long/medium/short length and colour (a complex mix of considerations without trying on). Buying online seems to be potentially an expensive trial and error way !

    Christine,

I’ve always bought synthetic wigs. I don’t really think that there is a lot of difference between different brands. I would, however, strongly recommend a wig with a “skin top”, which is a fake skin patch where the parting goes.

I bought from an eBay seller in the USA (ldygothic), getting literally 3 wigs posted for about the cost of buying one here.

There are 2 very separate and distinct requirements for wigs. One is colour, the other style (including length).

For colour selection, I would seriously recommend that you find the book “colour me beautiful” by Carole Jackson (ISBN 1 86315 015 3). The clothing styles are a bit dated but the colour information is very correct. It explains correct colour selection for clothes, hair, makeup and accessories. You can also find the same sort of information by googling for “skin tone” season (with the quotes). Once you know you “season”, working out suitable hair colours is easy.

For ideas on styles of wigs, go to google and search for “face shape” “hair style” . There are plenty of sites out there with information on this.

Once you know the colour and style that you want, you can easily buy on eBay. I’ve almost always found the prices to be much better from US sellers on eBay than local sellers or other web sites.

Another thing to be aware of is that if you buy a wig with a fringe, you’ll need to get the fringe trimmed to suit your face. Some hairdressers will do this for you, but you’ll have to put the wig on in the shop for them to work out how long it needs to be.

I’d post the before and after pictures if I could figure out how. I don’t have a web site to store them, and it doesn’t appear possible to upload them to the forum. Oh well.

I had put the photos on yahoo, but my site there is now long gone.

I’ve now put the photos in a gallery called cleavage, which you can get to via my profile.

Shows where I stuck the gel bra, how it pulled the cleavage up, plus before and after photos of the same breast forms in the same top with and without this trick.
