    Hi Peta and other hobbyists.

Sorry I couldn’t make the Hawksbury show, would like to have had a chat.

Would like to remind those train buff TR members that the annual Sydney Model Railway Exhibition will held over the October long weekend, Sat 2nd to Mon 4th, at the Whitlam Leisure Centre in Liverpool.

It is the longest running model railway exhibition in Australia and with around 80 stands, it is the largest in New South Wales. The layouts on display cover all scales and prototypes, and come from all over Australia. It is the diversity and quality of the entrants that make the Sydney Model Railway Exhibition one of a kind.

Over the three days many thousands of people of all ages and interests attend. They see not just layouts but commercial stands and demonstration clinics. Also exhibiting are many kindred organisations including the Sydney Tramway Museum, Railway Transport Museum and the Australian Railway Historical Society. Thomas the Tank Engine rides are available.

I will be there on the Sunday and Monday alas in drab mode. If you regognise me please say hello but don’t call me Fay! Perhaps ask if we’ve met at TR.

    Cheers

Oh gluton. I read it as glutton. Would definately be interested if there was a glutton option. LOL
Thanks for the info Clare but would only be able to commit to one xmas function so will have to wait and see what’s happening with TRansfusion this year.

    Cheers,

Well said Clare and Ella! I totally agree with your reasoning.

Lighten up girls. Take it in the way it was meant as humourous and don’t look too seriously for hidden meanings and agendas. Did the elderly complain at the hospital death scenario ad? Have a look on ‘U’ tube at all the Crunchy nut ads. THEY ARE FUNNY!

Have a laugh at life, don’t take it too serious as it doesn’t last that long.

    Hugs, Fay

I agree with Amanda & Peta. KIS! Keep It Simple. It’s a bit like Mustard and Chilli – Mild, Medium and Stong. I know there are all number of variations in between but if would be impossible to “label” each one. If one felt that they were between those basic catorgories then they could quote CD/TG or TG/TS. Any further digression would require a face to face meeting with a lengthy detail explanation anyway!

    Hi Lauren.

Yes Virginia is right. There is a great selection of footwear available in the states. I have found that generally I have to add 1 size for US shoes. i.e. I take an Aussie mens 7 which is normally an Aussie ladies 8 and a US ladies 9. (Lucky arn’t I πŸ˜† )

Ross for less is a fantastic outlet for cheap womens clothing and footwear in the States. They are everywhere, a bit like Best and Less in locations and pricing but with modern fashion clothes and shoes. To find locations go to Google maps and punch in Ross for Less.

Just be ready for the funny looks if you get a bag search on the way back through customs!!!

    Hi Vicki,

Was in France winter ’08 and though that en femme would be a breeze as all you could see of the women was the centre of their faces!

All rugged up – boots, long coats with collars up, thick scarves and berets! Hardly any flesh to be seen.

I thought that the clothes were overpriced and unless you wanted designer labels they were much the same as available here.

    Have a great trip,

    Hi Peta,

Will try to get along on the Sat. morning, but a bit far for me from the “Shire”. Went to the Epping Model Railway Exibition the weekend before last and definately spotted a CD/TS but did not recognise her as from TR. Also blew my budget on model railway items so don’t have a lot to spend on trade stalls. Will keep an eye out for you if I go and definately say ‘ello if I spot you. If you have your signature red locks you shouldn’t be too hard to spot.

    Cheers,

    Well done Amanda.

I have noticed the subtle changes such as the new “TR” logo, colour changes and “girls” thingy is now “members”. This site is forever improving. Slowly does it like the old bull and the young bull on the hill.

    Amanda

I totally agree that the “TR” should remain as should the parallel address trannyradio.com as many of our group associate with the original name. I also agree that the word Tranny can be disparaging to some of our members and in my case, to put a label on myself, as a crossdresser, the word is also irrelevant.

I find nothing wrong with the format or colours as I’m also very 70’s, if not 60’s, orientated. Would not like to see bright pinks, lime greens and gaudy contrasting shades

I do feel that TR.net is not descriptive enough for new members and needs a lot of imagination to relate to our activities.

Perhaps we need to canvas some alternate names, select 3 or so and vote to see which is the most popular.

I can see where Amy is coming from but I think the phrase ” bringing girls and guys together” makes it sound like a dating service which it most definatly is not and I for one would NOT like to see it develop that way.

Even just the term “transgender” would restrict the prospective membership and shy away crossdressers and those not at present wishing to go “all the way”.

Support forum certainly has a place in any mission statement as does socialising. I think Amanda has done a great job so far and she is astute enough to see the need for any change.

I had an incident at Katoomba when walking up the stairs to the TransFormal wing. 😳 Must remember to lift that full length cocktail dress when going up πŸ™„

    I love’em long and I love’em short.

    Interesting and dangerous topic.

There are so many infinate variations. Each and every person is individual and different. There are no two of us that have identical preferences.

It’s a bit like the 16 Briggs Meyer boxes. There is probably a box each of us can associate with but the edges are rubbery and flexible and there are exeptions!

I think labels can be useful to lay some initial ground rules but they are only a rough guide to begin exploring the true person.

Also we may begin our journey with one label and find we slowly change as we experience and develop down this intocicating path. I know I have.
