Dear Brona,
With an orchidectomy and no oral hormones you will liable to osteoporosis and fractures.
Don’t do it or take oestrogens to protect you from the above.

When- not if- it all falls over, people are going to be running for cover all over the place, and some serious questions should be getting asked.” highly offensive. One could hardly consider the statement a balanced contribution to a discussion on transgenderism”

Prepuberty blockers don’t convert a child into a eunuch; they merely delay puberty until the adolescent is certain of the identity they wish to adopt. This attitude is strange from someone who presumably regularly cross dresses and I’m sure this attitude would find support in Brunei and the many other extremist organisations throughout the world.

The author rejecting puberty blockers is adopting a very strange attitude. She implies it’s far better for trans child who has been convinced all their life they are really a girl to grow a beard and for the voice to break and thus make later transition infinitely more difficult.
Puberty blockers have widely used and no long damage demonstrated.

With reference to the above debate there is evidence of a world wide move to the extreme right in politics almost amounting to neo fascism. Note the welcome by Trump and the U.S. ambassador to the U.N. Nicky Haley to the new extremist president in Brazil and of course the riots in Melbourne.
You will not find tolerance on their agenda.Berthold Brecht the German playwright after the 2nd world wrote. “The womb from that which crawled (fascism) remains fertile.”

A fascinating topic. Fundamentally there is virtually certain to be a biological basis. Biological sex is of course a question of which sperm carrying an X or Y chromosome gets there first. Gender is more subtle and depends on the timing and strength of the hormone balance in the womb. Get this wrong and you have a biological male with a tendency, strong or weak, towards female gender inclination. Social conditioning encourages to one to act out the male role until something triggers an awareness of femininity. In my case I had two female cousins about my own age who had fun dressing me in their clothes and the rest is history.

A very courageous and valid contribution by Alana62. Surely the aim of all of us to approximate as closely as possible to the real feminine existence otherwise why are we bothering to dress etc. Certainly there will be times when we fail to pass and we shouldn’t despair about that.

I don’t know who wrote the above piece but I would like to quote an item from Vicki Lee who runs the Way Out Cub” in London. I think it sums up the dilemma and inevitability of the Transgender life.
You may not start at the beginning,
You may not get to the end,
You can get off,
You can get back on,
You can go forwards,
You can go backwards,
But IF you have a ticket,
You will always be on that journey.I find the above strangely moving.

The only occasion with a minor problem was in quite different circumstances. I was in Germany in a restaurant in male dress and the male toilet was out of action. The manager told me to use the female one where I was roundly abused by a German women (I speak German)and it gave me great pleasure to tell her I was acting under orders.
