Agree with and love what is being said. The goodness these days is very cool. I am grateful for folks like Adrian who put themselves out in the light of day to help all of us advance. I love the respectful way that this issue was approached to, and in the end resulted in an earth shift in policy. In my case I have had similar experiences. I know that one of the staff in my local shops was worried the she had not addressed me by the “right” pronoun and had offended me. Little did she know that being treated respectfully had already made me feel comfortable to try on the heels I wanted. I did not even notice her faux pas. Her colleague told me about the pronoun thing later. It shows we have come a long way and I am happy to soldier on and help any way I can.

Get the same Emma. Not everyone is rude as the examples you gave. Like you I am not interested in men. Especially the ones with pics of them holding something their own “fish” and nothing else. I am not able to fathom the average male mind. There is a song by Of Montreal called It’s different for girls that sums up what I think about this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_WDugKPnlk

Emma – I am sure you will make a mark in Tasmania. I am an engineer too (electronic) and totally with you on the doing things right and getting the dull things done. Good to see that has paid off for you.
I was down there in Hobart in July – while it is no funky town I don’t think it is Gorky park. I could see myself going out and feeling safe.
Hope it all works out for you.
Michelle – lots of engineers frock up and look great. Wondered about that myself.
Hugs

Hi Elsa
Look forward to seeing you at Glebe. Spending more time myself dressed the right way. I wonder what I was worried about – basically don’t care anymore what people make or think of it.

Awesome Michelle – I love that you have used archeology as the scientific study. This means we are studying a dead culture. While I would like it to be a live culture in the future, I do believe it will be dead soon. If you had engaged an anthropologist I would then have held some hope that the culture was alive in the future. Sadly this girl and her size 43s are still kicking, but alas in complete oblivion to the next species terminating event. Live long and prosper TGR……

love being out in my comfy clothes. Thanks to everyone sharing their stories as it is good hearing how people get through this and be who they really are. Juliette xx

Thanks all for great thoughts. I am happy now where I am and that means being sensitive to when and where I dress. Mostly I spend time dressed somewhere between genders I try and be appropriate for when and where.
I am lucky that I can delete all my hair which is fab. As Jessica said most people are in their own bubbles so as long as your 5 inch heels don’t burst the bubbles things will be generally OK. Even women who are 6 ft and then add heels get stared at so that sort of thing is what I use as my guide. 5 inch heels going out.
Thanks Juliette -
Love the lists
