when we give this person called “kochie” oxygen we are doing all a diservice. Yes lots more need to be educated too but he is not your mate – ever. He creeps me out at the best of times. Juliette

I like the cooler months for the same reason of hair removal. Hard work to keep looking fem over the summer but I do agree that it is great to wear summer skirts. Juliette

I like it. I like the point – treat me like a person and don’t put me in a box. Most of the folks who ask such dumb questions do not even know that they are even discriminating at such a fundamental level. “Do you ask your asian friends if they know the guy who served you lunch” They actually probably do…. I don’t know if I should be depressed or just laugh it off.

Why does there need to be categories? I have been dressed femme and never had anyone mention anything out loud. Maybe I am lucky that I am tall and appear to have a look of “just try and make an issue of it”.
I shop for femme gear in drab all the time and rarely does anyone even notice.
Gwendoline has a point about expression and guess what – GG women will dsicuss negatively about women who express their gender to the point where sultry becomes slutty.
It is not about absolutes of femminineness or maleness, it is all about perceptions. Like how does the energy of the universe change because this week you know that a person is TG that you did not know about last week ?????? WTF
BTW I am utterly surprised that pagan”ity” has a gender issue but that only indicates to me that if a belief/religion has a name then it is organised religion wit “fixed rules” and is intrinsically bad – just my viewJuliette

Member29/05/2010 at 1:29 pm in reply to: Labels.. do we need them, should we have common definitions?Amy does point out that otherwise outwardly competent induhviduals can function in the world and “even” prosper while believing such idiocy.
These sort of attitudes, while not completely universal, are out there and do make anyone different feel like hell.I saw a gay comedian last night who found it safe to use a tranny as a butt of a joke. I was not impressed. The audience reaction did not make me feel like being “out”.
So where does that leave one? Labels of any kind are so retrograde, I cannot even begin to name the problem….
WHAT IS WRONG WITH being of any gender and wanting to appear in clothes of any type????
Why can’t I wear what I want without having to actually pick a label??? It really is none of anyone’s business if I am transitioning from male to female or if I just like to look un”drab”.
the ultimate question is why do I need a label past that of “my name is” …..?? Apparently I don’t need a “label” if I am wearing pants. If I wear a skirt I suddenly need a label?? Apparently I live in an enlightened society…. tee hee – I see the humour too but at times it does wear thin. Now back to the real world

Member08/07/2005 at 12:09 pm in reply to: Do heterosexual crossgenders relate differntly to women? Why does there need to be a justification process at all? I am amazed that I need to justify or even need to apologise for having the desire to have a broad spectrum of feelings. Yes I enjoy Arnie movies. Yes I enjoy deep and meaningful stories and I cry. For heaven sakes I enjoy house building and other so called macho stuff and guess what I enjoy wearing stilletos. Big deal.
My personality is what it is. Why does it need to be seen as different because of what I like to wear? No one pulls a woman aside and says. Dear – I see you are wearing pants with running shoes for 5 days in a row – damn you must be a dyke! If I wear a skirt once well then I am insane and gay or worse.
I am so fed up with the “best we can ask for position”?
To have to justify that I desire to wear more than crap clothes. To have to even contemplate that I need to consider anyones opinion if I want to cry for whatever damn reason I want to. Why is it that if I want to wear a skirt that I need to even think about it so that I would only wear it where appropriate? What a brilliantily screwed up world.
Lots on my carving board
