For those who want to see the final result have a look at this link:

    Stephanie on TV

Stephanie looks very feminine and totally gorgeous I think you would have to agree.

    Thanks Carol for the tip.

That’s a pity as I felt this was quite a good test. Here’s two more tests which might amuse some of you. On the first I got 50/50 and on the second I got 46% female and 54% male. Seems I am a split personality!

Had my ears pierced several years ago and consider it one of the best decisions ever made. I tried clip-ons which were painful and fell off at inopportune moments. My son and daughter made comments the first time they saw them but have never mentioned them since – I have a pair of diamond studs that I wear in guy mode, which is always good to stir some people up. It’s not unusual for men to get their ears pierced these days so what the hell. A religious guy gave me quite an interrogation over it, but I just told him I had always wanted to have my ears pierced and if he had a problem with it, I didn’t care. (“It’s your problem, not mine” are the words I used.)

So if you haven’t done it yet, do it now and let people get used to it.

Nice photo Jessi. You look happy and that’s always a good start. Does your family know/accept your real self?

Quite so. I guess it just depends on the ratio of female to male in our gender make-up, and that may vary through a lifetime. If the female is the dominating force then it is understandable that one might choose to live 24/7 as a female with the additional options of SRS and medication to take the process even further.

Cate McGregor chose that path. I found it interesting that during her interview with Jane Hutcheon on ABC TV that she said: “I can never BE a woman.” The fact is, that whatever we do to embrace our female side, at the end of the day we will always be transgender.

I’m just under 6 ft on the old scale; I think that’s about 184 cm or so. When I wear 5 in. heels that makes me tower over everyone but I don’t care because I love the heels even at my age 66. My wife says when I dress I look 20 years younger. Nothing like a bit of flattery to lift a girl’s heart. :P

Thanks for the advice, Adrian. I am sorry to hear that the report did not get wider attention, especially after all the hard work that went into it. I guess it’s not sensational enough to stimulate much media attention. We don’t cause death, disease, riots or threaten the social structure and we are not even illegal.

I think we are all agreed that the idea for a new TgR survey is a good one and should be pursued with vigor. As I was not involved in the previous one, I was wondering how much of it reached the outside world – can we expect a feature article in the Sydney Morning Herald for example.

It seems to me that the real benefit of such a survey should be to educate the public on transgender issues as well as give us a warm fuzzy that some progress is being made to make the the general community more aware of transgenders and the challenges they face in everyday life.

My own gut feeling is that things have changed over the last few years, mostly for the better. Certainly there appears to be a greater public awareness of transgender issues based on my own personal experiences over that period.

I am happy to help out, assuming that the work can be done from a distance.

I watched the Q&A show also and admired Cate for being admirably articulate on both defence and transgender issues. Most of us are familiar with Cate and the journey she chose, very bravely, to undertake. If you have not already seen it, watch the One Plus One interview with Jane Hutcheon where Cate is conspicuous for both her bravery and her honesty.

It’s reassuring to know that one can travel overseas without too many problems even on the borders of Syria. I am a little surprised that you say the Koran does not mention anything about gender diversity. We do know that homosexuality is severely repressed in Muslim countries (such as Iran) and perhaps gender diversity may be seen as an extension of that. I have a TG friend who lives in Cairo and is extremely careful to keep her existence secret.

The Bible (in the book of Deuteronomy) specifically excludes the imitation of women by men and this has been attributed to Moses. As Moses gets significantly more mentions in the Koran, it is surprising that similar commandments are not forthcoming. Of course the Koran is written in verse, and like the predictions of Nostradamus is open to a variety of interpretations as any jihadist will tell you.
