Seriously, teachers shouldn’t say ‘Good morning girls’ at an all-girls school? That’s complete nonsense.

No where are we more discrimated against than in the gay scene. But on the other side of the coin i really like drag queens and so does the general public. In fact i think drag queens are the only thing that non-gays can like about homosexuality. Bloody gays lol.
Seriously? I find drag queens as boring as bat shit. I think they have bugger all to do with the crossdressing scene and a great deal to do with the gay scene- circa 1975. Most of my genetic female friends are massively relieved to discover that I feel as they do about drag queens ie. that they’re a tedious, unoriginal and insulting to women waste of space and time- and that they shouldn’t feel obliged to burst into totally affected squealing joy when somebody with a godawful pun of a name bursts onto the stage to do some tryhard lip-synch to some instantly forgettable or ancient and deservably forgettable ditty which leaves those subject to it completely underwhelmed but sadly obliged to halfheartedly applaud anyway! That’s just my opinion, happy for it to be shot down by others.

I used to own a similar number of school dresses but have downsized! It’s a pretty common liking I would think, many of us probably grew up with sisters and had access to their uniforms and it’s an easy outfit to put together. And it’s a really cool look! Enjoy.

I guess this counts as a happy ending in that he got a good behaviour bond, although I feel very sorry for him being identified so publicly at age 18. Tough gig.

Member01/06/2010 at 12:15 pm in reply to: Man dressed as schoolgirl questioned after arrest in MerrimaI sympathise with this poor kid. He surely didn’t mean to cause the stress that he did, or the national attention that he’s gotten.
I was just thinking it seems there’s been a spate of stories of guys trying to pull off the schoolgirl look without success…really, it’s not that many, I guess they tend to leap out of the headlines to some of us.
There was that bloke in Japan a little while back- http://www.geishablog.com/uncategorized/man-dressed-in-schoolgirl-uniform-arrested/
and we had an incident here in Canberra a month or so ago too- http://news.theage.com.au/breaking-news-national/man-in-school-girls-uniform-on-the-run-20100325-qz1r.html
Unfortunately, it’s the kind of thing which tends to freak the general community out, particularly parents. Probably safest to keep it as an indoors fantasy. -

It sounds great, it’s been a while since I’ve done anything TR-related so if I can make it I will. -
Probably lucky this happened after a mate of mine (American) a couple of years back, bored off his skull from living in Qatar (far dodgier than Dubai) decided to have some fun by going out in public in a burqua, shoes and gloves in a shopping centre, with a mate filming him from a distance. His act was to walk straight into a glass wall, then, whenever a concerned woman approached him “her” to ask if “she” was OK, to respond in a deep male voice (in English) “Fine thanks!” as his mate filmed the scandalised and shocked woman scurrying off as quickly as possible! Hilarious on youtube, probably lucky not to be doing 10-15 in a very dodgy Middle Eastern jail!

Welcome back Mari, you’ve been missed. Good job on pointing out what a nutbag the said academic was and or is, all too often complete fools are treated like experts on issues they really don’t have any idea about or who are far from unbiased and this is clearly such a case.

Thanks Jan, it was a classic night out and everyone looked great! The taxi no-show was a battle of nerves that we came through like troupers! Wish I’d paced myself better but still enjoyed it all. And my apologies for causing a hotel evacuation on the Friday, ta for your intercession which got me out of the call out fee!

I’m good on height- 170cm or somewhere between 5’6 and 5’7 in the old school. If I could drop about 10kg and keep it off my wardrobe options would be endless!

Best of British Jenny. Remember you have nothing to fear but fear itself!

I think that’s a terrific idea. New Zealand is, as people have mentioned, a very progressive place, and is also close and cheap enough for those of us on the eastern seaboard to open up a whole new world of travelling opportunities. I’m not seeing any downside, anyone else have any views?

Don’t have anything to add to this except to say that “unbifurcated” is possibly the best word ever! Put that one down in your next scrabble game! Triple word score right there!

Member12/09/2007 at 11:35 am in reply to: Transgenderism in Film – your comments pleaseA couple of quick ones that spring to mind:
Glen or Glenda- horrendous production and plot, but heart in the right spot.
Just Like a Woman- totally unlikeable protaganist, but nice shot of the community. And great karaoke scene!
Kinky Boots- actually pretty good for both mainstream and tranny viewpoints.
A Little Bit of Lippy- saw this one when I was about 14…haunted me for years. Thank God for Ebay. See it if you can.Any others?
