Princess Edward is still a chance I think at least for a Boris Becker-style knee trembler in a Buckingham Palace broom cupboard at a Royal Garden Party so I guess by default Sophie the Duchess of Wessex is a chance too.
Conservatism and Class are my middle names as Adrian and Caroline will attest!….well maybe not I’ve never thought of getting a tattoo but if I did it would be a picture of Popeye saying “I yam what I yam”.

Member05/06/2018 at 3:38 am in reply to: Mirror mirror on the wall..who is the fairest one of all?Thank you ladies for your kind comments – they touched me deeply and I appreciate them very much. This wasn’t an exercise in me fishing for compliments it was centered on how some speak ill of others and how many are treated among our own. Caroline encapsulated it perfectly.
When I say I don’t care what people say or think of me that is true but I confess I do care with regard to you all in the TGR world. I value your comments, thoughts, and most importantly your friendship. You’re all a great bunch of chicks and I love you to bits xxx
I shall also resolve to be less conservative in my dress for next year’s Transformal and come out-of-my-shell a bit more
Oh and Caroline I LOVED dancing the Nutbush with you too girlfriend and I suspect it won’t be the last time!

Get yourself there Philippa! xoxo

I don’t think that we are the last of the trannies in a terminal sense…there will always be those who will want to throw on a skirt and sashay up and down the street..I just think we are the last to live the way we have. The ladies above make good points and the experiences they have had both pre and post getting out in the real world will resonate with most who read them. I just don’t think those experiences of hiding in the shadows, or of having a maximum freak-out in case you’re discovered, will feature in the future.
The lovely Anya and I had a long chat with Stephanie on the Friday night at Transformal. Stephanie chatted about the doubts she had regarding her appearance and how she didn’t think she was overly convincing. Typical first night nerves conversation. I can’t speak for Anya though I suspect she’d agree that all I could think was “You’re ****ing kidding, right?” Stephanie shone in both appearance and deportment in our eyes. It would be a big deal finally letting her feminine side out after so many years of hiding but by crikey she pulled it off in spades.
Oh and Mel is spot on Fay! We ARE a crazy lot…….thank god for that hey? I didn’t see any glum faces around the place or wallflowers on the weekend – all I saw was lots of chit chat and laughing.

I have bowed before many in my time too Claire for various reasons and a lot of them are historical.
Ummm I referred to William Wallace as wearing the blue eyeshadow hun not Charlie who, let’s face it, was a bit of a ponce as well….and I don’t think I mentioned a kilt anywhere? Through personal experience I do however agree that running through the thistles in a kilt can be uncomfortable and potentially dangerous. I myself have had many a prick up my skirts over the years from my days in the Mother country and can attest to this.

Now this IS a first: A “to do” that I’m involved in without actually uttering a word! Adrian will be so proud
Well, even I do not go quite as far back as the cro-magnon dresser but I can give a few handy tips on historical figures from personal experience:
Jesus of Nazareth: wore a dress most of the time so need I say more? Good card player.
Robespierre: tended to bang on a lot for a religious dude which can also be a positive.Another dress wearer.
Rasputin: brought a tear to the eye on more than one occasion (you might have to do a bit of research to get that reference). Dress wearer.
Genghis Kahn: nicknamed “tripod” by most of the gals on tour. Skirt wearer.
Bonnie Prince Charlie: Had lovely skin due to hiding in caves most of the time.Skirt wearer.
William Wallace: Yelled “Freedom!!!!” at inappropriate times and was a bit sloppy with his electric blue eye shadow. Skirt wearer.
Edgar J. Hoover: Complete transvestite. Would say things to me like “I’m arresting you in the name of love”. Had an extensive file on me which also meant there was a file on him as well. Burnt both files but I believe a mini-series is in production at DreamWorks tentatively titled “Lady & The Tramp”. Danny DeVito (him) and Angela Lansbury (modesty forbids) are linked to the project. -
I’m back at University studying History as it happens….some of my harsher galpals have suggested that I am really good at History because I was there for most of it
-
I also like “I’ve Got A Luverly Bunch Of Coconuts”
-
Funnily enough I often have “Bang Bang Lulu” in my head when I’m out on the town.

Go and stand in the corner Claire xx

I am sure she is as you say she is person-to-person Diane. For me, watching her on the telly, she grates. Some adore Jim Carrey, others can’t stand him and think his best movie was The Dead Pool because he was killed in the first 5 minutes. Some think that Nicole Kidman is Australia’s greatest actor. Others think she is a screeching wooden hyena whose best work was in BMX Bandits.
I at no stage criticised the subject matter, the location, or the point of the show. We can still have an opinion or another point of view can we not?
All the best to those in Violet Town xx

Sorry Adrian that is probably/definitely my fault again.
I shall go and stand facing the corner for a while
