Meanwhile NSW is still working on bringing State law up-to-date with Commonwealth law. I wonder if the short lead time to the next State election is slowing down or speeding up the process. Memo to Gladys. Carol has just been added to the electoral role and is resident in a marginal electorate.

I used to have a favourite really cheap basic hotel just round the corner from our Café (2 minutes walk). Since last time I stayed there though it has been renamed ( now Ryals Hotel), totally refurbished and greatly increased its room rate, $174+). Last time I stayed at the Urban in Newtown (a 10 minute bus ride from the Café).Years back I stayed at the Mercure, very close to Central Station and a 30min walk up Broadway to the Cafe. I’m hoping to go to the June Café night and am currently researching my accommodation options.

I use to live in Sydney and knew about the shop but being married and not dressing at all, except in secret, I use to quickly and quite embarrassingly window shop. But many years later when visiting again after my wife had passed and I was starting to dress more often and publicly, I also had the chance to visit the Wig Affair. I like you ventured into the shop as a male and had the same response from the staff. I didn’t try any wigs or buy anything but was reassured that they were accepting. A few days later I returned but fully dressed and the response was outstanding they fussed and encouraged and made many suggestions. The shop also had a number of women clients at the time and they also joined in with suggestions I had a wonderful couple of hours and walked out with a some beautiful albeit expensive wigs. I have returned to Sydney on a couple of occasions and always make time to visit this shop and their wonderful service. I must also mention for anyone visiting the Gold Coast the Big Wig at Strathaird Rd Bundall is a must. Huge showroom a large range of wigs and makeup, and a gorgeous fitting room. The salon owner (forgot her name) has a wonderful sense of humour and makes you feel like not ever wanting to leave the shop. I am sure there are many more of our members who have had their own similar experiences at salons such as these… please share

Definitely one of the best One plus Ones in quite a while. Thanks for the heads up Caroline. Apart from her self-awareness at age 4 (I took another 10 years to partially work it out) everything Ayla said rang bells with me. She spoke with such dignity too.

Second language problem

I was literally a [strike]guerrilla[/strike] gorilla 😆 and I mean it, I even had lots of hairs on my back. When I started to realise what’s going on with me, my partner encouraged me to go for laser hair removal.
My case, I had 10+ time on my face and at least 6 times on arms, back, chest and stomach. and I also after a while started taking Spiractin hormone-blockers.
I can say combination of laser and blockers works pretty good for me and I look more like a young boy now than a [strike]guerrilla[/strike] gorilla

I watched this program by happy accident. I just turned on the TV and there it was. The amazingly accepting community left me with a nice warm feeling.

The time is getting very close to me having to have this sort of conversation with my grandchildren and sons-in-law. My 3 daughters have known for some time but have chosen not to meet Carol. The two eldest grandchildren have, according to reports, been puzzling about my pierced ears so the discussion is really overdue. I’ve decided that they can continue to call me Grandad unless they are embarrassed by that in the circumstances, “Carol” is an option at their choice.

This is so sad. I met Christine just a couple of times at Seahorse events. She seemed to be such a tower of strength to the organisation. Someone you assumed would always be there.

Just following on from the interesting points Adrian raised in this topic, we must remember we are all unique to ourselves. In as much to some, an Aspro may relieve a headache, it may be Panadol to others while simply adjusting your hydration through drinking water may do the job for others. HRT has the same effect. The multiplicity of formats, compounds and dosages can produce a wide variety of results across the spectrum of uses. As we know from all forms of medication, any substances taken orally may be partially filtered out of the system by the liver. The half life of all medications has to be taken into consideration when prescribed as well, best results from anything are achieved through a consistent, sustainable supply.
It also goes without saying, any medication should always be under the appropriate medical supervision.Happy holiday season

Oh yes, oh yes, oh yes, today of all days. I legally changed my name to Carol at the end of September and have been arranging various cards since. I now have Medicare, driving licence, seniors card, Opal, and credit card in my new name.
Today I started with a visit to pathology to have blood hormone levels checked after my latest estradiol implant (I’ve been on hormones now for over 4 years). Then I updated my Medicare details with my GP’s reception. I’ll be seeing the GP on Monday to see what the pathology results are. Next a visit to Medibank Private to wonder why they haven’t yet sent me my new card while all other agencies have. Promises gained that they’ll fix it. At least they’ve been sending emails to Carol. Then a visit to my wife to watch the results of the postal survey. Yahoo! With luck the flow on will mean that we don’t have to divorce to allow me to press on with transition. Back home to find a letter from my hair transplant surgeon inviting me for a follow-up 6 months after my surgery.
TG Life is one happy moment after another.
