Quote:Hi,
Some of the posts in here go back 2 years. So after 2 years what can members say about their breast forms. Are they still as good as they were 2 years ago.
Are there new types that are better than the ones discussed in here,?.
I am thinking of buying the gold seal ones from the breast form store.I replaced my forms last week The old ones were about 6 years old, and I got the equivalent new Amoena forms from thebreastformstore.com.au . These are a more expensive brand than the gold seal ones, partly because they have an integral gel adhesive backing that sticks directly to the skin. Mine are a size 6.
When I went to pick them up, I discovered that I knew Tanya from 20 years ago! After spending 2 hours visiting (including spending half an hour talking to David about kit cars!) I managed to talk Tanya into coming along to the Newcastle cafe night this week. Yay.

Quote:Hey, you should check out this cool IM program I use, Trillian. It allows me to talk to people on all the major IM networks. You can find out more about it at http://www.ceruleanstudios.com/.
I find pidgin quite good. It supports MySpaceIM in addition to all the other usual ones. Also, being open source, they don’t have a crippled free version and a full version that you have to pay for. The full version is free.

Quote:Gosh! I have not seen such righteous indignation since Frank Burns and Hot Lips Houlihan tried to clean up the 4077.
LOL.
I’ve been here in TR for quite a few years now, and I’ve seen some inappropriate behaviour from members and non-members alike. I haven’t always agreed with exactly how Amanda has dealt with things, but I respect and accept her decisions as being what she believes are in the best interest of this site.
I’ve had a look at this thread and the other locked thread and I have to agree with Amanda in as much as that if there is a real problem, it should have been taken to the administrator of the site privately, not posted into the forums. Without more information, the whole thing just comes across as bizarre. I can easily see why Amanda would make the comment about not being sure about the intentions of the original post.
Even if it was intended to be about addressing a problem with an individual, I think that the end result is more like smearing TR for no obvious reason. Perhaps those who are actively attacking Amanda could make constructive suggestions on resolving the issue…

Quote:Quote:As a P.S I would add that I find this comment made by one gurl a little sad .Quote:My female persona is sexually disinterested. Not that my male persona is much more interested…
Maybe she’s on hormones! Once that testosterone is gone, the sexual desire tends to follow fast. It takes a lot longer for the alternative hormones to kick in.
As the person being quoted and apparently pitied here, I’d like to point out that I am not on hormones and I’m not TS. I’m not lacking in testosterone.
I have found, as with many others before me, that being married for several years and having a child pretty much guarantees sexual disinterest on the part of both partners. Quite simply, sex falls into the category of can’t be bothered. Any form of online virtual sex falls into the category of “Eww. Gross. Why would you?”

Quote:In this thought, I would like to make a suggestion. To create a business and/or service directory for any member who has a business, service or interest that can be of benifit to our group in any form like sparkies, dressmakers, plumbers, what ever
While I like the idea in theory, I’d be concerned that a lot of girls who aren’t completely out may not be prepared to list themselves on such a directory for fear of being publically outed and the negative impact that might have on their business and personal life.
Personally, I have a 4″ high sparkly seahorse fridge magnet located prominently on the side of a filing cabinet in my office but I don’t think that anybody has ever really taken any notice.

Seriously, what I am saying is that the most effective way to achieve change is to chose which of the 3 major parties (labor, liberal and nationals) most closely fits your own political ideology (ignoring gender related issues) and join it.
The more of us who join a party, the more influence we can wield and more chance we have of achieving change.

Quote:Feeling aroused whilst dressed is part and parcel of the whole experience.
For me, that stopped being the case many, many years ago. Now, dressing is about becoming that persona, presenting that image and being accepted in society as that person when I choose to be her.
There are many, many different points on the T continuum, and arousal whilst dressed is on that continuum. It is a part that almost all T-girls go through. There are some who, like you appear to be saying is the case for you, are at that point right now.
It is no more wrong for someone to live their entire life at that point than for someone else who moves further along the continuum. It is a mistake, however, to assume that because that is where you are at, it is where everybody else is at too.
Quote:To go one step further and become intimate with another girl is a nother step in exploring the feminine side.I guess it is for some. While I am quite happy to socialise with other girls, I can’t say that I have ever been interested in being intimate with another CD, even when I did find dressing arousing.
To me, exploring femininity is about learning to socialise and interact with other people whilst being the female that I want to be when I adopt that persona.
Quote:Like Wendy I feel that if we meet and are accepting of possible intimate encounters, then subtle statement scontained in our profiles ought to indicate this. This is where I would really like to see a section of the profile only visible when logged in. Such statements placed overtly in a publically readable profile has the risk of damaging the public image of transgendered people in general. Considering how bad our image is already with the general public, that’s gotta be bad!
Quote:If it is not to explore our female side, then why do we dress?I dress to be my female self. My female persona is sexually disinterested. Not that my male persona is much more interested…

Quote:It is not a public site and we shouldn’t attempt to make it that.
Interesting. Since when is it not a public site?
If you choose, you can have your profile only visible to logged in members. Otherwise, the profile and public gallery are precisely that, public.
When my sister outed me to much of my family, she emailed them a link to tranny radio that bypassed any warnings about transgender subject matter and took them directly to the profiles page, with instructions on how to find my profile.
I stand by my original comments in this thread. The photos that came up as the various family members navigated their way to my profile directly affected their reactions. I’m yet to find out whether some of my family will ever speak to me again, and I am waiting to see how long it will take for me to also be outed to my inlaws. In the meantime, I am relieved that there are no longer photos of male genitals bulging in female underwear on display at random in the profiles page.

Member24/06/2007 at 5:47 am in reply to: What other sites do you want to link to from your profile?I would like to see yahoo messenger added. My userID is alicejaneinnewcastle. To see the profile of the yahoo account, you’d add it to the end of http://profiles.yahoo.com/ to form http://profiles.yahoo.com/alicejaneinnewcastle . I’m not sure how this works for users on yahoo.com.au, yahoo.co.uk, etc.
I’m not heavily into it, but I know that a few girls use hi 5. My username there is alicej, which forms the first part of the URL, creating http://alicej.hi5.com/
The other suggestion is for those who edit on wikipedia, but I don’t think that there are many girls here who do that. My user name there is AliceJMarkham, which forms the link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:AliceJMarkham for my user page. The first character of the name is always a capital and spaces in usernames are replaced with underscores (_) when forming the link.

Quote:I have used a Braun Epilator for the last couple of months and love it, except for the pain the first time
I generally suggest paying to have the area waxed before the first attempt at epiling. It’s easier to deal with the initial pain if someone else is waxing it for you.
Be aware, however, that if you don’t keep epiling regularly, you will eventually have just as much hair as you had before you started.
Quote:(itis now relatively painless) and the in grown hairs; The green Nads ingrown hair solution seems quite effective. A male friend of mine started with the green, tried the blue “for men”, hated it and has gone back to the green.
Quote:There are also sufficient fine fair hairs remaining not arouse any suspicion when I am in male mode, unlike shaving. This also looks more natural en femme, particularly on the face, where women usually have vellus hair and don’t shave…
Quote:Obviously the epilator is not suitable for facial hair ( or maybe I am just a sook) so I am hoping the laser will solve the problem. It must just be you. :p I’ve been epilating my face for several years. It’s quite difficut to get started but it’s very effective. Waxing or, as I did, tweezing the whole lot by hand first makes it easier to get started.
I also have a mini epilator that is ideal for doing brows but I don’t think that they are made any more.

Quote:I’m afraid I don’t get it. Maybe I’m thick or something, but what is going on here? Are there who some who wish to be seen as t-girls? Recognised as such?
Yes, that is apparently precisely what they want. Some girls seem to think that we should stand out and be proud of being transgendered because it will do more for our rights than hiding by passing.
Quote:I dress cos I like to, I like to look as femenine as possible, I like to look as womanly as possible.I aim to be as convincingly female as I can be, which isn’t necessarily as feminine as possible. Instead of aiming to look like an idealised female, I actually aim for average or slightly on the plain side of average. I’d much rather be seen as a slightly dumpy ugly chick than a guy in a dress.
Quote:Are there some who think we should wear outrageous clothes, thick eyelashes and lipstick.
I’m fascinated about this. Not necessarily that extreme but something like that. We should dress however we want to and go out and be confrontational like rebellious teenagers. Personally, I think that it undermines the general public’s perceptions of us, but that’s my understanding of what they do and what they are saying that we should all do.

Quote:And the two littlies (5 and 7) don’t need to be told just yet.
I’d suggest otherwise, actually.
From everything I’ve ever found, the younger they are when they find out, the more accepting they are in the long term.
My 3yo son has known essentially since birth, as a number of Seahorse NSW members can attest.

Quote:HI, I would like to know the best way for covering up eye brows
I’d suggest that you start by trimming their length. I initially used a comb and scissors but later discovered that an electric trimmer intended for trimming the bikini line was much better. The idea is to shorten the hairs so that the brows aren’t as bushy. Over whatever period of time you feel comfortable with, shorten the brows a little more each time until all of the hair on the brows is around 5mm long.
Once you get to there, maintain that for a while, then start shaping the underside of the brows.
Using a technique like this, the change is so gradual that it’s likely that nobody at all will ever notice.
