Good luck Michelle but I don’t believe there is such a thing as an ex crossdresser and the stress from not dressing is quite high, or at least that is what I found.
I hope you get plenty of support from your wife in this as it will be hard for you.

I find it easier to buy underwear than skirts and dresses and last time I bought a bra etc, I told the sales assistant (the owner from discussion) it was for me. That was at a small lingerie shop in West Perth. The principle being that it is a sale and I think that the price I paid she was quite happy for me to buy them.
I bought a twin set from St Vinnies and the lady said that it would look nice implying she knew it was for me and when buying a skirt at Rivers outlet, the woman didn’t blink so all my worries were for nothing.
My only bad time was a young girl at Target some years ago.
I always shop in drab and at shops out of my area. I am always nervous, but you just have to get on with it.
I think that Perth is big enough that your chances of getting caught are minimal.

I have often wondered why often, CDs I meet wear clothes that are too small, too tight and really caricature women, but think that this is a fetish to those people rather than a desire to feel feminine.
I prefer to dress my age normally, and to wear clothes that fit me and are comfortable. Like wearing flats around the house rather than heels.
Then again, a nice school uniform???

I wonder about the risk of being picked out if your face is visible in your photograph on here or on other similar sites. In truth the people visiting these sites are going to be CDs or those who like to be with CDs and are unlikely to spread the word around.
The likelihood of being identified is minimal really; the chances of someone who knows you being on line is slight, and if you are in a wig, make up and a frock, you are virtually unrecognisable anyway.
So, show your face, I think it is quite safe.

I must admit that I find high heels a little uncomfortable for normal wear and bought a pair of flat shoes to wear around the house while I am working. I find it easy to go to a shop where it is not busy and buy for myself. Occassionally I tell the assistant it is for me as I did when trying the shoes on.
I always shop in drab although I have femme underwear on all the time.
Five inch heels would make me about 6’4″ tall. Statuesque to say the least.
