Quote:Hi Melissa,
I have just received the latest brochure from Glamour Boutique in the USA. One of their monthly specials is an “extra large size wig for extra large size heads” – price on special $US23.95. (Postage is approx. $US14.95 for one overseas postage article). Check wig specials – link is http://www.glamourboutique.com

Hi Terri
This is who I’ve been getting my wigs from in the past. When I was in america last time, I actually got to try some of their wigs on in their Las Vegas store so I know they would fit me.
They only list one “extra large” wig still on their website and there are only limited colours available so I’ve gone ahead and ordered one, even though I dont necessarily like either the style or the colour but as its the pretty much the only one that will fit, I thought I’d better grab one while there are still any leftMelissa

Thanks Sally
Most suppliers I’ve contacted say their wigs will cater up to 23″ size heads but unfortunately, as my head is 65cms, I need at least a 25″ size and what I’ve found so far has been very, very limited -
I’ve now done the rounds in Sydney, Brisbane, Newcastle (well, 1 store) and the Gold Coast and nobody has a wig big enough. Even that site in america that I ordered from previously, they only have one style of wig that will fit me and even then, its a very limited selection of colours and I dont particularly like the one that they have anyway.
Surely with all the wig manufacturers out there, with all the sites on the internet, there has to be ones that are big enough.
I guess my only other option is to get one custom made but they wont be cheap -

Member05/09/2009 at 11:27 am in reply to: How do you feel when somone says something feminine to you?One day while out with Kelly on new years eve (day), we were waiting in line to get a few drinks. I stood back while kelly ordered, when it was the turn of a guy standing a bit in front of me, he just turned to me and said “that lady was here before me” which made me feel pretty good.
But then about 2 minutes later, I nearly got ran into by a teenage girl and when she looked up and saw me (I dont know if this was because she was about to run into me or that she ‘read me” or both) and took a moment and said “oh my god” -
I have 3 wigs but two arent really in that great a condition anymore so the one I use is pretty much my only option.
I’d probably be inclined to go for a few more wigs but as a lot of you know, unfortunately most wigs dont fit me but I guess at least it saves me some money -
I’m now well into double figures for the number of sessions that I’ve had and I seem to not be making any more progress. The last couple of times I’ve just had the area around my lips done and I’ve been getting more regrowth on my chin.
There are more grey hairs emerging 😡 which laser wont do anything for I guess but I’m torn between continuing but not getting anywhere and giving up or at least really slowing down and running the risk of undoing all the time and money I’ve put into it so far -
That’s great girls, thanks for that.
I’m not sure how often I’d attach them but its better to know how to take them off beforehand before trying to work out how to do it laterMel

How hard is it to remove the forms?
The ones from the breastformstore that I am looking at come with adhesive tape and do you need a special remover or anything to successfully remove them? Thanks
Melissa

I dont doubt the quality of service, its more the price that is putting me off a little bit but from what I’ve seen so far, that seems to be about standard for this type of product but its still a substantial investment to make.
With the forms though, do you need a mastectomy bra or can you use just a standard one?
-
From what I can see, the general consensus seems to be that buying from the breastformstore seems to be the way to go.
Has anyone had any experience with PALS enhancers?
I was thinking of treating myself to some forms and was trying to do my reasearch, check out all my options and see what others had to say

Member27/11/2008 at 7:21 am in reply to: airports – advice when travelling in girl modeFor domestic flights within australia, there are no liquids, aerosols or gels restrictions so makeup is fine to take.
The only thing that security will check for in your bags (other than any sharp and/or metal items) is aerosols and that is only that they have a lid and that they are not punctured.
Corsets are fine in your bag, it would only be a possible issue if you are wearing it.
If you are in doubt, put it in your checked bag and you’ll be fine (assuming you are travelling on a ticket that allows checked bags) -

Hi Tash
Just so you know, the event took place a few months ago now but even if it was still to happen, I couldnt have done it properly. I mean, if I suddenly emerged with high heels that fit, a wig, knowledge about making breast forms, lingerie, all out of the blue and did it all too well, it would have created way too many problems.
But the point is moot though, as I said, it has been and gone -
Quote:So Melissa do I understand correctly that you were in fem mode when you encountered your co-workers and they did not recognize you? That being the case does this now mean you are out to your co-workers? Hope it all works out for the best.
No Chrissy, I was in male mode, Melissa doesnt get much of a look in anymore.
I had just finished work and on the way out, I went to the office to check my roster as they only give it to me 2 days in advance if I am lucky.
If I get some Melissa time and get to go out, I have to be a lot more careful now in Brisbane as I have lost a big part of the relative anonymity that I had prior to starting there so I pretty much have to go in girl mode.
Mind you, if someone saw me and decided to hassle me over it at work, I guess I could lodge a complaint or something. What we do when not at work is our business and we shouldnt have to feel guilty for it nor have to suffer any abuse or harrassment. -
Some interesting answers that have been posted, seeing people’s different interests, preferences and ways of thinking and doing things.
I just find it interesting to see how other people think and get a different perspective on things.
Keep the answers coming -

Member13/04/2008 at 9:04 am in reply to: Epilation – experience using SILK-EPIL/Braun etcDoes it make any difference if you let the hair grow a bit before attempting to epilate on your body or is it no difference if you do it every day or if as soon as you see hair regrowing?
I do it when I can and I have a braun silk epilator but it doesnt seem to be very effective at picking up my arm hair. I dont know if I am doing anything wrong but it seems to miss plenty of hairs when I give it a go
