Administrator12/09/2013 at 3:59 am in reply to: Does your TG “hobby” detract from other interests.Hi all,
I totally agree with Caty and others about the essence of this post. I am relatively new to being out to my wife and have gained acceptance from her. The colossal relief of stress, for which I am eternally grateful, has caused my thinking, doing and pre-occupation with dressing and transgender issues to increase rather than decrease…a bit like the proverbial bottle being uncorked and overflowing. This has had the effect of my productivity of things that need to be done and my male hobbies taking a distant back seat. I find this really frustrating, as I procrastinate over everything that’s important in normal life in favour of going on-line, checking facebook, emails, Flickr etc and planning my next outing. I have been out of work for the last two months, but start a new job next week. I am desperately hoping that I can focus on this when I start, but am worried that all things TG will hijack this. I guess it’s a question of discipline!
As for the compulsion getting stronger as we age, I think this is down to reducing testosterone after 40 and a sense that ‘it’ can’t be beaten and a degree of acceptance sets in. This worries me as I am new on the journey and wonder where it will all end, and whether I go from a functioning T-girl to a non-functioning one where things in daily life that need to be done and hobbies get moved further and further down in the pecking order!! Perhaps new hobbies will arise?
I hope this post has stayed sufficiently on track.

Hi Caty
I got as far as the Masquerade home page using your link but couldn’t find the article. Hints please. -
“If I woke up tomorrow and found myself totally blind, how would it affect my expression as a person”
Answer ? Simple…… It wouldn’t
I am, who I am……… Blind or not.
I don’t need a mirror or camera to define how I express myself as a person. I am just simply ………. Me.
With love & respect

Hi Caty,
Thanks for the link. I enjoyed watching this as much as I have enjoyed any TG related clip.
Shandi was lovely but I think Cheryl made it extra special for me.
The producers need a special mention too as not one cheap shot in sight.
This is a positive way to introduce ourselves to those we care most about.
Thank you once again.
Jan.

Administrator30/08/2013 at 1:56 pm in reply to: Bradly Manning is revealed to be gender diverseMany of you may know that Bradley Manning has announced that he will in future be known as Chelsea Elizabeth Manning.
As Chelsea begins her 35 year sentence for telling the truth about US army regretful activities, she could use the help of us like-minded transgender girls.
You can write to her at the address below to offer your support.
Unfortunately mail cannot yet be sent to her under the name of Chelsea.
Or check out the support Bradley Manning website……Pvt Bradley E Manning

Administrator29/08/2013 at 7:55 pm in reply to: How important is wearing a wig to the way you feel?I had the same experience with Tanya at BFS. I went there for forms and came away with forms and two wigs. I was surprised at her range and the low prices. She was way under Darlinghurst. Somehow I had just thought she’d concentrate on forms and carry a couple of wigs for the desperate. Definitely a place to visit.

I just had my face and neck refried. $70 and 15mins in the salon. Each time lasts longer. I do shave as well to stretch the time between sessions as I use obviousness of beard shadow after shaving as my criteria for going back. I’m currently going once every two months.

I’ve just filled in an online survey about TG Health. It’s flagged in another thread on this site. One late question was about anything additional that would help the TG community access health care. I put in a bid for easier access to confidential health care services for TGs in regional areas. I live in a small village and know my GP’s staff socially so I travel to Sydney for counselling and TG GP services. Others may not be able to afford that. Feel free to raise that with the Greens Chantelle.

I’m a slow developer. I had this weird idea around puberty and it’s consumed my sleeping life since then and an increasing proportion of my waking life. I’ve finally started to listen to my inner voice and understand that it isn’t calling me to occasional dress-ups but to something more profound.

To answer the question. I don’t; because I am.
Being a woman is like being pregnant. You either are, or you aren’t. You can’t be half pregnant. That’s just my position.

Sounds too good to be true but I’ll be interested in any reports. If I’d known about this product a year ago it would have saved me a fortune in dental work. Even now it could give me a bigger more feminine smile.

Administrator15/08/2013 at 8:00 pm in reply to: Bradly Manning is revealed to be gender diverseI already felt sympathy for Bradley. Now I really do. Never mind all the issues we can relate to, he sends a cry for help to a supervisor while dealing in highly classified information and they don’t move him into a less sensitive position or adjust his level of clearance until his issues are checked out. So whose fault was it that he cracked and leaked?

Administrator14/08/2013 at 8:08 pm in reply to: Earrings clip on for studs and drop earringsI bought a packet of this style of converter from ebay a year ago but don’t use them. There was just two much clumpy metal involved. A well designed clip on earring looks heaps better.
