Most pharmacies do ear piercing & supply the studs & spray as part of the deal, I paid $29.95 at Blooms in Grafton, they should offer you a rather bewildering array of choices, take your time to pick & to ask questions about after care, I didn’t, feeling a bit flustered at the time, as I think the girls doing the job were also

Hi, I had mine done 7 weeks ago at the pharmacy where I get my prescriptions filled, they thought I was joking at first, the 2 young girls who did it, one on each side at the same time, didn’t offer any care advice, except to use the antiseptic spray regularly, they did ask if I would be wearing hoops so, without explaining why, they did the piercing higher up in the cartilage above the lobe, apparently this takes longer to heal but is less likely to stretch with heavy hoops.
    Observations:
Don’t take the studs or rings out for at least 4 – 6 weeks, I did & had major trouble trying to get the studs back in, couldn’t get them to start, then couldn’t find the exit hole, had to push one through, which hurt a lot more than the original piercing.
Most people either don’t notice or a don’t care, all the comments I’ve had are from female friends & none have made anything of having both done, I reply that I’m celebrating my retirement.
I’m sure it will get easier, but at the moment I have major problems fitting the keeper to the back of the studs, small girl fingers would probably help, some keepers click onto the stud & are very secure, others seem to rely on suction at the back of the ear & can fall out, particularly while sleeping, I’ve started using small hoops at night.
Hoops & shepherds hooks are much easier to put in, though the hooks can fall out if your doing something energetic.
I had no infection issues, though I was careful to use the spray liberally, I’ve found that using a lubricant, just a touch on the end, helps with fitting & I’m sure I’ll be wondering why it seemed so difficult as time goes by.
Overall I’m glad I had them done, much more comfortable than clip-ons & more choice & availability

Hello Glenda, can’t help with the rings, but if you have a look at ebay / jewellery / findings you’ll be able to get all sorts of things, (jump rings for instance & usually very cheap) to either increase the length of a pretty bracelet that’s caught your eye or make your own as I do, sorry, doesn’t work for bangles, but also great for necklaces & earrings

There is another way to get nice eyelashes, but I’d hardly recommend it, the glaucoma control eye drops I’m on have a side effect of promoting eyelash growth & after a couple of years I now have really long, thick lashes & I often receive envious comments from lady friends

very strange, have just had this same discussion with my best friend, he is the only non TGR person aware of Terri, without having seen this thread, was taliking about my inability to tell my sister, my only close kin & a few years older & I’m sure she wouldn’t be concerned, but just seems to be impossible to bring up the subject, though I’ve been attempting to do it for a few yaers, I do have have plans, if courage permits, of coming out to a lot more friends after I retire later this year
    hope this makes sense

    Hello Fiona
I usually buy Razzamatazz Curvaceous pantyhose, available at most supermarkets & department stores, never had an odd look at the checkout, they come in 3 colours, soft tan, brazen or black, size 2 fits from 155cm to 179cm height, quite cheap, about $10 for a 2 pack & long wearing, I get around a month from a pair wearing 18 hours a day during the cooler months, starting to get a bit warm for them now, sigh, probably would get the odd look wearing them under work shorts
    cheers

I whole heartily agree with every post on this topic, I started to save for next year’s event as soon as I got home this year, if I need to put an extra couple of dollars away each week to make 2014 even better I’m very happy to do so
look forward to seeing everyone then

Many, many thanks to Amanda & her helpers who made this weekend another marvellous experience, this was my fifth & I’ll keep coming back, for those who haven’t been to Transformal, I’d suggest you put it on your must do list for next year
