On the topic of resorts, a couple years ago I went to Turtle Cove (www.turtlecove.com) which is a resort for the gay & lesbian community in the Cairns/Port Douglas area.
It was self contained and you had pool and beach facilities and it was reasonably price.
There were no problems in being in femme mode for the duration of the stay.

Ownership has changed since I was there but the core service for the Gay & Lesbian (and TG) community remains.

    Cheers,

    Wendy :)

    Jodi,
Dermablend is available from the priceline chain (www.priceline.com.au).
The product was introduced about 18 months ago and comes in approximately 12 shades.
I turned up in drab mode and tested the various shades until I found the right one to cover some of my red skin blemishes.
Kryolan is another brand that has the same qualities but is only available in Melbourne (top of little Collins St) and you would need to visit to get the right colour shade foundation.
Some of the mineral foundations are good as well – just turn up to Myers makeup counters and see if they can overcome the problem.

    Hope that helps

    Cheers

    Hi Janep,

Here is a link to an Aussie website that appropriately describes sizing.

I think you will find it helpful.

I read the article half a dozen times trying to understand why there was a necessity “to challenge your thinking etc”.

The few people that I known (say 6) that are currently at various stages on the Transition journey seem to have:
    1. A good level of personal and intellectual maturity.
    2. Researched the positives and negatives of such action from the many avenues available.
    3. Have the appropriate support (professional and social) network in place.
    4. Full awareness of and accept the ultimate consequences.
    5. An understanding that SRS is a critical necessity for their mental and social wellbeing.
    6. A very unique journey.
    7. Achieved personal happiness in undertaking the journey.

These ladies are undertaking a very difficult journey and they receive my total support because of the abovementioned factors.
We all are individuals and what is important to one is trivial to another. As long as any individual embarking on any journey is aware of the potential ultimate consequences then their decision should be respected and in need supported.

Whilst the article seems to ask numerous questions it is shrouded with too much negativity on undertaking the Transition journey (which does not necessarily mean all the way to SRS) and I at times wonder whether it was written for a specific person in mind rather than the community.

The issues in relation to Cross Dressing and the various stages of it are well documented in books and websites and the article on that front did not value add or “challenge”.

Overall, I found the article was say 3.5 out of 10 at the best for content and further possible discussion.

    Cheers,

Maybe an understanding of local cultural and legislative requirements is required.
What we have in AUS is not universal and whilst we should be extremely happy on that front we cannot ignore what others have, after all a 20M population is a close knit community by todays standard.
At least justice appears to have been done in this instance. What about other nations that do not have any freedom of expression, let alone freedom of gender expression.
    It is all perspective.

    Lori,
Can’t help you with that. Shopping in HK is good but very limited for S14 and above.
Spent a few weeks there in 2008 and didn’t see any TG people there not that I see any in Sydney or Melbourne.

    enjoy your trip

    Sandy,
Well I went on Breast Cream for three months (early last year) plus some pills. Outcomes were:
    1. Breast Cream over three months resulted in no more than 1″ growth.
    2. Pills … well lost the “sex drive” so gave that portion of the “medication”. Drive returned promptly.
    3. Gained weight quickly … that seemed associated with the pills so when I gave them up no more weight gain.

I believe that all these herbals effect everyone differently …. but have my reservations that the “D” will suddenly appear (although its a nice dream…hehehe).

    Cheers

    Ladies,
There is a product available at most major shoe outlets called “Tana Leather stretch” … check on goole indicates it is now called “Tana Expander Spray”.
You spray inside the shoes before you wear it and leather expands to mould around your foot.
I have used this product and provided the stretch required is reasonable it will work.
Those other areas that rub and irritate the foot ….. back in my male days breaking in shoes I put vaseline jelly on the outside of the foot where the irriation was occuring and no blisters, etc due to absorption of friction ….. it’s an old wives tale ….. it worked for me and I fit into that era …. hehehe.

    Ladies,

Dermablend is now stocked at Priceline stores and has about 12/15 shades of the product.
I tried various shades in store to conceal partial redness of my skin in places. It certainly works as a cover of such and similar blemishes.
This is only a recent addition to the product listings in Priceline.

Costs approx $37.30. Unfortunately my shade was not in stock yesterday.

    Cheers,

    Mari,

I believe you post is clearly unwarranted.
Discuss commentary/remarks on a topic and leave the person attacks out of it.
Besides the comment was made on another forum and not here.

    Ladies,
    Some really excellent posts.

For me passing was intially and totally focussed on trying to look and act as femine as possible.
However, that changed after about 12 months when after a bit of soul searching I came to the conclusion that passing was in fact about acceptance of yourself. As a crossdresser, I am both male and female and I am comfortable with the latter, Wendy is a part of me which I wholly accept.
Whilst I try to be as passable as possible (dress, make-up, wig, deportment, etc) I do not concern myself if I am read, I just simply smile and accept.
There are some girls that have excellent attributes (Jade & Claire come to mind quickly) where passing in the physical sense seems like second nature and I am envious of these girls. Others are blessed with the correct attributes and manage those attributes to their advantage. On the other side of the spectrum are those who will have difficulty passing but go out and have no fear of the outside world. I believe it is because of the inner acceptance.
As previous posts have stated, there a some “creeps” out there but if you have confidence (and I call that inner acceptance) that will shine through and you won’t have problems.

Now I better get back to making myself as passable as I can ….. hehehe
