I really don’t care any more whether I pass or not. Now if I do pass to some individual walking by, I would suggest that they need to attend Space Savers or OPSM. I’m old, crabby, I burp in public, I fart in public and I’m still not too worried. Who cares?

I had a derogatory remark from a family member in 2000; it’s still with us.

I totally agree with Adrian. Just what is wrong with being one’s self? I think it runs along the age old line of self acceptance. I used to terribly embarrassed about voice (mines a little on the deep end) but then what’s wrong withe voice you have? Nothing.

I think on the Sunday, the Carrington ‘hosted’a wedding and the following reception. Perhaps the Carrington was a little worried the male wedding guests, a little under the weather may be confused with who is whom. Might have been a little embarrassing.

Thank you Bridgette, Claire Stafford, Michelle for your kind thoughts and wishes. Everything comes in spurts, waxes and wanes. I’ve been put on an anti depressant I’ve never heard of before, but it’s working and I have uninterrupted sleep which is wonderful.
Thanks again ladies for your thoughts and kind wishes.Liz

Please remember ladies, hostility is the perpetrators problem, not yours. My experiences in hospitals within the ACT has been very favourable. Although I enter such establishments as male, I do wear ladies gear whilst in bed and all the staff know I’m TG.

I have to say this Jennifer, What’s inside counts heavily, and in your case, you’re well loaded on that side. I’ve heard our Pauline say, ‘the wrapping paper helps’ and perhaps it does. Keep going as you are my friend.

Member13/09/2015 at 6:17 am in reply to: Driving “en femme” , wow, over 400 views and heaps of likesI’ll have to admit that years ago when driving, wherever that may have been I always ensured that a quick change boy outfit was stashed in the car, just in case. I never needed that insurance, and now when I drive as I frequently as Liz, its all or nothing. It adds a little excitement to the day, anyway, who cares?

I fell into the trap, stupidly taking notice of the usual hype. It seems ok to me after settling down, but I prefer Windows 7. Fortunately I have only installed 10 om the laptop.

I know that the reply suggested by Michelle is probably the best course of action. A confrontation only feeds into their already super bigotry. Making such a person feel like a deflated balloon would make them think and think twice. It’s a pity there such people around but education, education and even more education will eventually sway their opinion.

We’ve been plugging the same old message to us ordinary folk for yonks;Be Yourself’ and not a copy of someone’s imagination. The original is far superior than a copy.

It really does make me wonder if, for whatever reason there is a subconscious desire to be ‘caught out’
Now don’t get me wrong because this is just a thought, being hit by that proverbial bus and the discovery of that enormous, lifelong guarded secret by all and sundry. It most certainly saves having to pluck up that difficult to find courage to come clean to those that matter; all is done for you. Now all you have to do is lay back in that hospital bed and await the flak. A cop out? -
Hi Fay,
Such a decision is personal as you and you alone know your family when endeavouring to take such a momentous step. Having said that, I sincerely believe that an up front approach is the best tactic, scary, impossible, gut mangling and a whole host of other descriptions, but in the end, the best, fairest way to come out to family. Who knows? you well may lose some, and on the other hand you may gain some valuable support from family you never thought possible. It’s up to you; I wish you the best of British luck. -
And yet another Transformal is packed up and locked away, perhaps to be dissected. This now means starting to save for next year and the determination to acquire a new dress to add red carpet glamour to the 2016 Transformal event.
The 2015 Transformal is the event of the year on the Australian social calender surpassing the Golden Globes, Oscars and other star studied attractions; really our Transformal does put Katoomba on the world stage. I was a little miffed to discover all our illustrious TV channels had decided to give our extravaganza a miss; shame on them.
I was unable to join the march to the council offices supporting the International day against homophobic and transphobic hate owing to the fact I had over indulged with an excellent Shiraz from Champagne Charlie’s on Saturday night. I wasn’t pissed but the rustle of the Sunday Telegraph pages aggravated my addled brain.
On Sunday there appeared to be a generous parade of very ordinary members of the public from wide and far especially drawn no doubt to the Carrington and the spectacle of our community tarted up to the nines; it was a lovely spectacle. It was a lovely weekend with riveting workshops and interesting discussions and gorgeous food. The Carrington staff and management were, as usual welcoming and accepting, although one male waiter delivering me a flat white, said, ‘enjoy sir’, me with my carefully applied makeup, long skirt and hair most carefully coiffured.; of well! Owing to my limited mobility I only ventured into the Katoomba air on Sunday evening for the now traditional dinner at the corner brasserie, a fitting end to an amazing weekend.
